Dealer Am I expecting too much from my dealer?

The CC company has to get your 2% from somewhere and take a percentage for themselves. There are many CC transaction companies all with differing "discount rates" and differing terms for the business. 5% is one of the really high ones, but it is that high because of your 2% rebate card. The CC transaction company I am familiar with charges a different discount rate on every card. We don't know what the cut will be until the end of month statement.

The dealer stated the 5% rate without knowing what CC I was using. I just figured that they had a lousy CC processor that charged high fees. From what you are saying, maybe that is the maximum they could pay at the end of the month and not necessarily what they will actually pay on my transaction.

I finally got my DK 4710se today. Bought it 3 weeks ago. It was already on the lot, but the options I wanted had to be ordered and installed. My dealer said Kioti had been hacked and had lost all computers and phones. 3rd function was one of the options I got.

Didn't know about the hacking...that would make a lot of sense.
BTW, love the screen name. We live in Western NY (farm country) and my wife is a huge Nick Saban fan. Thought I'd throw that in.

I knew I'd get some good advice and wisdom from all you experienced owners.
I'm a relationship kind of guy and think that that's so important in any transaction. And as I said earlier, I really don't want to upset the apple cart. So, I'm going to keep my mouth shut and just wait for that third function valve kit to be delivered and installed by my own dealer.
I appreciate all your feedback, guys. It IS like Christmas - I guess I'm just getting too excited and can't wait to get that new machine and put her to work. After 25 years with an reliable but tired Ford 8N, I'm ready for that Kioti beast.

What we dont know is what lengths the dealer went to for your business, only you are aware of that. Couple that with this issue and make a decision. I would be more concerned about ongoing parts and service support than getting this accessory. Are you also trying to beat the weather in the Northern states or are you South? Sometimes things pile up just before the snow starts.

My machine took about 2 months, but that was mostly me. Busy at work.

One other thing to mention...dont be afraid to go to the dealer and drive your machine around, get to know it, run through the owners manual while on it, start it, figure out how it all works. Time well spent, and if you have questions you can walk right in and ask the dealer. I did this for a couple of 2 hour sessions while I waited and it was really helpful. By the time delivery rolled around they didnt have to show me anything.

I went and picked up my m59 that wasn’t my m59 yet and tried it for the weekend.

I have done the driving around thing. Nice to ask the questions that come up, when there with the machine, and also any issues.

Congrats and welcome,

I waited about a month for mine. Seemed like a year. :confused3:

Be patient, a year from now none of this will matter.

All you need now is a ballast block, Piranha tooth bar, bucket hooks, a new barn.......I could go on but you get the point.

I am at week 4 in my wait for a new LS, with delivery tentatively schedule for Monday. The dealer warned me it would probably be 4-6 weeks as my tractor had to be ordered.

I had a couple of add ons (third function, wheel spacers, and filled tires). All of that takes time. Surprisingly, the tractor has been ready to go for 1.5 weeks, but the implements have been the problem. The snowblower came in with the wrong chute (manual, not hydraulic like what was ordered). That was another 3-4 day delay. Then, it came without hoses, another delay to make up the hoses.

I've come to the conclusion that the supply chain management for tractors is nothing like what we experience in general for most purchases in a modern society.

Having said that, it is dissapointing that when unexpected problems arise, a dealer just shrugs his shoulder and says, "oh well, I guess there is going to be another delay," as opposed to making an extra effort to overcome these delays.

Is it frustrating? Sure. Would I do it differently if it were me making the decisions? Sure. But, then again, I'm not a tractor dealer and don't understand all of the other potential time crunches they are dealing with. So, is it worth getting bothered about? Probably not.

In my situation, I've been waiting and planning to get a tractor for about 4 years. Another week or two isnt that long in the grand scheme of things.

CC purchases will be changed a extra 3% processing fee on sales over ( fill in the blank ), see a lot of this around here.

It used to be a good counterman would call around and find the part if not in stock and have it later that day or would ask the customer if they wanted to pick it up but now if their computer says zero on hand they just say I can have it tomorrow or in a few days, they don’t go the extra mile like we used to. Times have changed that’s for sure.
