Going way off topic here but this is why I will never leave this area. Now that we are in the 'R' months, time to start gathering oysters of my beach for my health! :cool2: :drink:

Going further off topic but my area is better then your area, except for May, June, July and August, now that we'er in the 'F' months, time to go for another walk with Henry........:cool2::thumbsup:

Bumping this thread back up as I need to report on the pump I was using. The motor just burned out on it at the end of December. Researched my purchase date and it was in Feb of 2019; so it didn't even last a year!

The darn thing worked so well for the 6 - 8 times that I used it! I had it in a full 5 gallon can of diesel and the motor just started sounding funny - running fast, then slow, and then just went dead. It's an expensive piece of equipment, $65.00 from Amazon and about $70.00 after shipping. I ordered another because I really liked how well it worked whilst it did work anyway.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I just had a faulty one from the start, but if the replacement doesn't last any longer than the first one did I'll never buy another. My model was the TREP03 from terapump.net bought through Amazon.com. I'm not trash talking the equipment, just wanted to advise on how short a lifetime mine turned out to have; YMMV.

If nothing else I'll have enough pieces (if the 2'd one also fails) that I can build my own with purchase of an ac/dc pump. We'll see.

While I'm here, is there some sort of trick in using the search function to find things? I tried to find a listing of my postings (to speedily find this thread once again) and I couldn't make it work. I finally found the thread but spent a lot of time in the search category looking. It just seems like one should be able to call up individual postings? Is there a help function for using search? I could perhaps figure it out if I had some sort of guide. Thanks. Greg

Have you tried the jiggle siphon? I set the 5 gallon can on the hood of the tractor, insert the siphon and jiggle it a few times to get the fuel siphoning into the tractor gas tank. I do that even on the riding lawn mower. While it's siphoning I walk away and do other things. It empties a 5 gallon can in 3 or 4 minutes.

I have to think that's easier than pump?

I figured out the search function. A Duh moment for me! Put my user name in and search for posts! Duh!!!

Hi Gregster613,

I've had the same issues using the search function, but I have learned (if it's a post or thread that I did) to click on "My Profile" at the top of the page just to the right of the "log out" function.

Then at the My Profile page, at the far left box area are the "Find latest post", and "Find latest started threads" that you can click on and scroll through.

Hope this helps you.

KC

This is what I use pumps 5 gal in about 3min. As you can see in pics will pump from ground level up to my tank between 5 and 6 ft from ground no problem, I just connect it to tractor so I can use it anywhere. Listed on Amazon at $16.39. I have been using it 3 or 4 years only problem tubing is starting to get a little old and stiff.

Looking at your pictures it may work better with the pump lower closer to the jug,
most pumps will push much better then they suck.

Tried it both ways doesn't seem to make a difference, it's a positive displacement pump

I bought that sucker for hydro fluid. Said it would pump engine oil at a rate of .8 gallons per minute. I figured that was optimistic but it's easier than pumping myself. 30min later it had pumped less than a gallon. So while it might be ok for diesel, definitely not for oil.
