What is the name of that tool box kit that you posted? Or what website did you find this one?

Thanks

For the boxes, these are on the ASC site.

Now, this setup is far better than using magnets. Magnets over time will cause RUST to happen between the magnetic surface and the mating metal.

If you got sticker shocked by my first rely, then think outside of the box and look elsewhere for the application.

ATVs have used many mounted mesh trays/baskets/bins.

This is a neat one. Should the tractor seat be an issue getting in the way, use this type.

Like most things, these are typically China made. A-B-C-D tend to fit the tractors.

Here's one that you can mount in the bar strip to close the slot and then to the ROPS.

I have that basket also. Had on the backside of the ROPS. It was in the way when I went to use the 3 point. So I moved it to the side using different braces and resting it on the fender. Its great. Love it. Use it all the time. Just don't care for it where it was designed to go.

That is very nice. Thanks for sharing this option.

There are also some front mounted ATV basket types that would mount to a tractor front weight bar. For John Deere's and Yanmars, it would be a quick attach when needed option.

California the golf bag is a great idea!! I think I know what I'm gonna do.

When stopping in at the Goodwill or Salvation Army stores, these bags are there for under $10. Sure, they are a bit worn, but not too bad for a portable ROPS sack. :cool2:

Here's the post that Jtullis referenced. I use lots of Goodwill stuff repurposed to carry tools on the tractors. $10??? ... $5 is my upper limit for junk like this. :D

And this pic shows the plastic toolbox lashed to the qhitch. Not to steer this thread off-topic or anything :) but this pic also shows the lifter I made for the spike harrow, built from a re-purposed exercise machine that a neighbor abandoned when she moved.

Ok, back to the topic of toolboxes.

Hey, did you put any drain holes in the bottom of the bags with a plastic grommet should it rain?

No. The tractors are never out in rain, almost never outdoors overnight.

(Unfortunately the appearance of both shows they spent years, decades, left outdoors before I bought them).

Nice pix resolution. The box is a Husky. Looks durable and it should keep rain out. I do like the clasps on the box as vibration could be an issue. Plus, a good closed box will keep our tiny critters making a nest inside.

For the fire-extinguisher, is that held on with velco straps ????

Thanks. It stays bone dry and the clasp has never loosened up. The extinguisher mount does have Velcro straps and has worked well for a number of years now. It is actually sold as a holder for a JEEP, but also fits the ROPS nicely.

I also have a "Woodsman's Pal" mounted on the ROPS. Very handy for when the need arises to take care of a small limb, brush, sapling, etc.... (pic from when they were mounted on my old tractor)

Had no idea what a "woodsman's pal" so I looked one up on Amazon!! WOW that's a lot of money for something that just sits on the rops.

I welded a pc of 2x2 angle between the uprights of the ROPS and mounted a tool box on the angle.

THe problem here would be not being able to see your 3 pt hitch now . I had the same issue and had to move the tool box .

18 in. Machete with Serrated Blade

It's come in handy a bunch of times already. Whack things or use the serrated blade like a saw, it does well.

If you look up what a "woodsman pal " is it's a brand with that fancy wood handle and some short looking shaped machete. But same basic tool. The $5 works as well. I have some combi tool thing that's like machete and hatchet I got free I could do the same with

Most of my tractors came with tool boxes, but usually I want a bigger tool box, so I mount a second one.

Once I figure out where it will fit, I bend up some flat bar out of my scrap steel box, and use existing threaded holes in the tractor to bolt it to,

Then it's just a matter of bolting the tool box to the flat bar,

The extra boxes have worked out pretty good for me...
