I had a contractor put in my septic. Cost 5000. The only issue is all the dirt, he spread it out the best he could but now I got a mess.will be cleaning it up soon.

I financed threw Kubota and our Home Owners Insurance covered it !!!

Covered what?

Cranblue might mean covering almost everything the Kubota insurance would cover. I have insurance through Texas Farm Bureau and it has the same deductible as the KTAC insurance. The only difference (and probably the biggest) is that my homeowners would only replace the current value of the tractor in case of total loss where as KTAC would give you a new tractor.

Well the kubota dealer was nice, gave me a quote on a L3301 with hydrostatic and FEL. Ag tires. Quote came in at 23. The RK37 has to be one of the nicest tractor for its size I ever road on, package wise it had a lot of upgrades, plus fluid filled tires, The used 2016 L3901HST is there now, 1800 no filled tires. And missing a lot the rk has, but also 1800. Of course with that I will need to take a loan with about 4% instead of zero percent.
Guess I will be deep in thought the next 24!

You did good with the used L3901 HST. I wish at the least I would have just gotten the L3901 instead of the L3301. Kubota should just offer the L2501 and L3901 and forget the L3301. All the same frame size anyway with the L2501 keeping you from having DPF and the L3901 giving you the max pto hp to run a rotary cutter.
One time I wish I went with my gut instead of listening to my wife.

Locally you can get one put in for $4-4500 including materials. The materials cost more than half. The tank itself is $900 for plastic or $700 for concrete. A permit is $500. Gravel is $350 for 22 tons delivered. You蛟、l probably need a big truck and a single axel truck load. Pipe is about $175 for preferred pipe plus the schedule 40 crossovers. That逞エ assuming 250 foot of fill line. If you豎*e using a chamber system that逞エ hardly ever done here you can cut the material cost and label substantially. You should be able to get everything installed in a day easily.

That's a nice summary of costs, but I'm sure you know that it only applies for your area. You couldn't even begin to get that job done for that price around here. Other parts of the country are also going have different costs for materials and labor to put in a septic, but the cost of a 3pt backhoe is pretty much the same everywhere.

So the cost of a 3pt backhoe will be completely different percent of the total. Some places it makes sense to buy & for others it makes sense to rent.

around here they are 6k for a standard system. I paid more because I had to go raised bed. Materials were more than half the cost. I watched them do it this summer fairly simple, took them 10 mins to dig out where the tank went, and another hour or so to dig out leach lines. Probably had a day maybe day and half all together in it.

With that said it was one of those things while building a house that juice wasnt worth the squeeze in trying to do it myself.

Again things vary by area. But after being heavily involved in building my house and crunching numbers a few things I found out. yeah there was savings in some things if I did them myself, but its not the 50% that people think. Things like septic, foundation etc there isnt 50% there. Even things inside of the house it would have cost me more money to buy flooring and do it myself then it cost to have them do the whole job. There can be some big savings in carpentry, paint, finish work etc. For example I had 38k into the attached garage, concrete, siding, shingles, windows doors, etc. When I priced material and having somebody else do the concrete I think I could have done it for 25ish, probably the biggest savings out of anything. Decks are another biggy in terms of savings

Realistically I looked at numbers and doing it "myself" i could probably have netted my self a 30% savings, but thats not factoring in tool cost more machine cost, lost opportunity, and the fact my time is money After building a house its stressful, and i commend people taking it on themselves, but my suggestion to anybody is really look at the numbers. Some guys have a lot of tools, have buddies with equipment that can help. But in general like I said above the 50% factor just isnt true.

I agree I lived in South New Jersey some septics cost up to 30k with bs regulations up there I知 now in NC I got a price on new leech field 300 ft of infiltrators for 3500 it痴 2000 in material if I buy material !!! I agree a 30% savings is probably more realistic and some times it pays to work out of your check book.I was a cranberry and blueberry farmer and you need to figure in your time which most farmers and people don稚 !!!

Thats what I try and tell people, even your figures did you have to do take day off work, rent a machine. Get a certain point and have to drop coin on a special tool. I really always try and do work myself first, but as you said working in the check book makes sense. I also figure in there is value in somebody that has done 100s of them doing it instead of me trying to figure it out, contractor also has insurance if something were to go wrong, and most contractors also some form of warranty.

Ive kind of gotten to the point now in life if its beyond a simple task (basic maint, paint, changing outlets, wiring a simple circuit) and Im not saving at least 50% its truly not worth the effort once all if figured in.
