Why does simple logic escape so many? and why does paranoia seem to replace it?...IMO the answer(s) is a basic lack of intellect or refusal to implement it...

ARTHUR: Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here.

SOLDIER #1: Listen, in order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings 43 times every second, right?

ARTHUR: I'm not interested!

SOLDIER #2: It could be carried by an African swallow!

SOLDIER #1: Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow. That's my point.

ARTHUR: Will you ask your master if he wants to join my court at Camelot?!

SOLDIER #1: But then of course, uh, African swallows are non-migratory.

SOLDIER #2: Oh, yeah.

SOLDIER #1: So, they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway.

So mentally ill people and people with violent criminal historys should be able to own firearms? Splendid.

Why do people come up with this stupid statement every time? You know the vast majority of mentally ill people are non violent and those that are are already locked up.
The vast majority of those denied because of a criminal history are also non violent.
Other then that, we have laws against the misuse of guns. If you didn't know, it is already against the law to kill someone with a gun.
How is another law going to stop anyone determined to kill you?
Stupid argument.
What about all the criminals that have guns now?
How about all the people YOU think shouldn't have guns now?
How about if I don't think people with your attitude should have guns??

Here's just one example from just 1 year. 2018.

No proof any of those people would use a gun to commit another crime.
Even if they did, we already have a law against whatever they would do.

Laws against possession make no sense.
Laws against actually hurting someone or taking their stuff I can understand.

Owning a gun or knife or car isn't what makes then do the deed.
