403 Forbidden... Argh!

The 403 was particularity bad because it would over wright the search results page, and you'd lose a lot of stuff you'd have liked to read in the shuffle.
I had a problem with the reply box not being active, finally had to go into firefox settings and physically remove all cookies from here to get it back. That of course also removed any placemarks so every hundred page thread starts at the beginning. Probably results of throwing half the forum out.

I was having issues like not staying logged in and some others and left Chrome and went to Edge and the issues for me stopped. Only changed I made and no software of settings changed. My computer had Edge and Chrome on it and was used Edge already with certain sites.

Yep back yesterday and today. Does not appear to be a function of OS or browser. Happens on Safari (Mac OS) and Chrome (Windows 10) at least.

As I mentioned before in a similar thread...it is likely a combination of faults..."Web pages are made up from many different files" i.e., text, images, ads (from third parties) etc...when a page is loaded (requested from a browser) not all the "files" load in the same order all the time...if a browser has ad blocking software and if the first file "requested" is an ad and the first to be "served"...it will often STOP the entire page from loading and the server will throw a 403 etc. type error...
If this error page is cached it will continue to do so...clearing the cache/history will most likely solve the problem...but it will not do anything from the same thing happening again...

With the overall Internet traffic being what it is (with the virus crap) more folks using the net causes more demand on many servers and the majority of Internet ads being produced by the biggest players in the industry their content (ads) often get served first...

We use Nginx at work, i haven't seen an intermittent 403 error being thrown, like it does here. Sometimes a permission misconfiguration or config is looking for none existent file will throw 403, but it consistent. It's possible, the backend providing the content, i.e. webserver, is being overrun, and not making file available in time.

All it takes is the main site's server being slower (or overwhelmed) than an advertiser's server and a blocked ad/file is served first rather than the main site's content...the first file served gets blocked and the entire request is nullified..thus a 403 or denial...

Yes... a server issue somewhere in the pipeline. Hope it gets resolved.

Well mine is fine today, just went through my normal routine and the error code didn't come up.

Well it's back for me , also when I click on the back icon it goes to the very beginning of the forum and I have to scroll back to where I was. No big deal but annoying.I'm sure it is being looked at and will be fixed.
