Nice Lou. Sorry about your lack of power. At least with your set up it's just a minor inconvenience.

I've always heard that those pto driven gensets run "dirty", as in freq and voltage bounce all over the place.

Have you found that to be true, or false with your particular genset?

No, my generator outputs good clean power.
It is a 4 pole head so it needs 1800 rpm for 60 Hz, with the gearbox on the generator set for 540 rpm input to give the 1800 rpm to the generator.
As you can see with the numbers I got last night it is very stable.
Off my Kill A Watt meter,
set up and running will a minimal load 60.1-60.2 Hz and 118.3 volts, just a few lights and miscellaneous,
bit more of a load turned the oven back on to finish supper no change in hz or voltage,
with the storm going and windows closed it got stuffy and hot so 3 heads on the mini splits on with the oven
HZ 60.0-60.1 volts 118.1- 118.2. so quite a bit more load both the mini split AC's on and the oven on.
A few years ago I brought a scope meter home from work just to check out the power it was more stable then the power company.

The Branson tractor governor works very good and holds a steady rpm with a varying load, my old Oliver also did very good,
the IH 574 is not quite as good when the load changes it will swing just a bit before it stabilizes, but thats just 2-3 HZ and less then 3-4 volts,
when I put the generator on the 1000 rpm shaft and run at half throttle the 574 will swing 4-5 HZ and 5-8 volts, I have run it at night on that setup to save fuel.

Played around cleaning up some brush piles and cutting, splitting some of the wood from the tree I recently dropped. Used the receiver hitch in my Artillian pallet frame to move car trailer and splitter around to where I wanted to "work" (ok, play).

Only down side about using this setup to move trailers is, when you're lining up the hook up, you can't see the hitch ball and hitch over the top of the hood as you line up "the shot". From the "drivers seat" perspective:

Put the forks back on and used them to get up under and pick up brush piles to dump on the burn pile.

Dug under one pile a little too deep, and had to put full lift effort to pick up the pile. Thought, "No way is this pile that heavy". Turns out I hooked a couple of tree roots, and popped them up to surface as I came up. A couple of those are better than 2". Oops. No harm done to pallet forks, frame or loader.

Splitting and stacking some pieces in the garden cart to take to the stack. That home owner splitter has been sitting outside all year. After not running it since last fall, it started on the second pull. And I know, you're not supposed to use "box store" riding mowers this way. 5 years and counting, so far, so good:

Just burning some brush pile stuff now, and mostly "done" for the day.

Just a home owner, doing home owner "stuff". Not enough to get any of the "pros" (or "wannabe" forum pros) excited. But it was finally good weather on a weekend. No rain or snow and the ground was dry and hard, so could drive around on my grass areas without rutting anything up.

I have a set up sort of the same for moving trailers, Slim. Only I made a mount for my FEL bucket. Originally I had the same problem of not being able to see the ball. I took one of my receivers with more drop, mounted the ball upside down then mounted the receiver upside down, and I can see it fine now.

Hey, I may have to try that Cougs.

Thanks for the tip.

Today I finally had a few hour break from work and it was dry enough to do some mowing.

As I was checking everything before starting the tractor, I found a birds nest under the hood. Unfortunately, there were 5 eggs in the nest. I had no choice but to remove the nest and set it on a pallet beside the tractor. Doubt momma bird is coming back.

The tractor has been sitting for about 3 weeks now. Sure doesn't take long for birds to build a nest. Hopefully she will not rebuild in my tractors.

In California if you're caught moving a birds nest... nah just kidding.

A bird built a nest and laid eggs in my barbecue grill once. My kids would not let me barbecue any food until the young ones flew the coup. Took quite a lot longer than I had hoped for that to happen. The kids were able to monitor their growth daily, providing some educational entertainment.

We just had a massive rainfall from a system that lingered in the area. It overflowed the “snow basin” and started to flood the area and it was creeping close to the shop. I fired up the 3520h to fetch my fire pump from the water rig at the back of my property and pumped the “lake” out in two hours. I’m glad it was put to good use but I had to struggle with the suction. I plan to build a standpipe in the future to make things easier next time. It would be portable and can be thrown in & weighted down. Drenched I was but got it done.

We had lots of rain two weeks ago and lots of sun and warm weather ever since, so yesterday I went ahead and tilled the orchards to keep them nice and tidy before everything turns into a cloud of dust.

The Branson just carried away like nothing.

I would think California would require the birds to put a warning label on their nest about how the materials used might cause cancer.
