Rented a walk behind stump grinder yesterday for the final clean up.

View attachment 654840

It was right out the kitchen door steps, so it was going to be a hazard if I left a stump sticking up above the ground there.

Still have to fill in some dirt around it.

It was fun grinding yesterday in the wind, rain, and snow (yes, it started snowing). At least it melted as soon as it hit the ground.

Was it the kind with 4 way hydraulics or the kind you have to dance with?

No it was the one you square dance with. Wasn't too bad. Mostly level ground, and didn't have to take it very far from the truck. Had plenty of extra "time" (4 hour rental) to grind a couple more long dead ones that I otherwise would have just let sit. It wrecked the dead ones pretty fast, but that fresh wet stump took much longer to grind down.

Today I added a fuel safety shut off switch that goes to the back of my 5220C tractor. This switch connects to a plug on the back so when I am using the backhoe atrachment I can shut the tractor off instantaneously should there be any kind of emergency. I have always felt a little uneasy using the backhoe by myself....sitting outside of a tractor running with no one at the controls. Usually my wife is inside the cab just in case...but only I know if something goes wrong quickly.

I used a heavy duty headlight switch I got from Amazon. The switch hangs around my neck on a para-cord. Now..Should anything happen, I just have to "bump" the switch to shut the tractor off immediately....killing the hydraulics.

Just something I thought would make things safer

I just finished installing a 3pt hitch Woods BH7500 backhoe on my 3520R!! Really anxious to try it out this coming weekend! I have 38 hours on my Branson since I purchased it in June this year, really love it!!!!

I added a safety shutoff switch that goes to the backhoe. In case something his wrong I can shut off the tractor while sitting on the backhoe. I have the 5220C and just never felt good about sitting outside the tractor, on a backhoe...and can't shut it off in case of an emergency.

I tapped into the fuel safety shutoff valve....used a headlight switch that hangs off my jacket .

Branson needs to design a factory tool box. Who all thinks so? Need to hear from people like you in order to make it happen.

My tool box on my 5220c...double as a seat that can haul three people safely

I think that wins the toolbox size competition!

Lol...it started out as a safe place for my wife and grandson to ride along with me when working back at the camp. I saw this brand new box listed on Craigslist...someone left it behind after moving and the new owner wanted someone to get it out of his garage.....so I did. I built a sturdy frame under it and now it functions as tool box, supply box, first aid box, toy box for the grandson, camping supply box...etc..

I built a wooden platform on swivels so when I take it off I can roll it around the barn.

My Branson has been mostly just sitting this spring since snow removal got done finally.
Till yesterday evening,
nice warm day yesterday sunny and nice till about 6 PM, then a big oll thunderstorm rolled thru.
Still on generator, no crew assigned no estimate of restoration.
Just to be sure I used my Kill A Watt meter,
set up and running will a minimal load 60.1-60.2 Hz and 118.3 volts,
bit more of a load turned the oven back on to finish supper no change in hz or voltage,
with the storm going and windows closed it got stuffy and hot so 3 heads on the mini splits on with the oven
HZ 60.0-60.1 volts 118.1- 118.2.

The Branson on the 540E just sits and purrs at 1750 rpm.

Nice Lou. Sorry about your lack of power. At least with your set up it's just a minor inconvenience.

I've always heard that those pto driven gensets run "dirty", as in freq and voltage bounce all over the place.

Have you found that to be true, or false with your particular genset?
