Thanks, he had a rough last few months. He spent lots of time in hospital, but had just gotten out and was showing signs of progress, then suddenly died.
He was a 2nd cousin to President Lincoln.

Do you know the lineage to Lincoln? My step son's dad is a direct decedent of Mordecai Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's Uncle. His mom's maiden name was Lincoln, and its all documented to Mordecai.

There are several Mordecai’s
If presidents uncle Mordecai, that would be the brother to Thomas, sons of “Capt Abraham”,
Mordecai Born around 1771 on his farm just a few miles from where my in-laws live.

Mordecai shot the Indian that killed his dad “capt” Abraham in KY in 1788. Capt abraham sold his VA farm and moved to KY in 1780.

VA John Lincoln bought 600 acres in Va in 1768, came from Berks PA. His dad was a Mordecai. His sons, born in Berks are.
Capt Abraham (lineage of President), Isaac, Capt Jacob (my wife’s lineage), surveyor John, and Thomas

This is house that capt Jacob built around 1800, took this Friday.

Va John sold part of his land to first 2 sons capt abraham and Isaac. Jacob bought land on south side of Johns land.

She said that she will look for it. Back when her boys where in grade school, they would tall the class that they where related to Lincoln and then be called liars for making it up. My wife said that she would bring the documents to the teacher and after seeing it, her boys where treated like rock stars.

My wife had same reaction in school, and they were from the county. But she never bothered to show proof.
Her dad is listed in a book from 1945 that gives all the genealogy of the VA Lincoln’s. Also lots online. Book has a transcript of a letter written from President to One of her Great grandfathers.
Her lineage is:
