No matter what caused it, it's a dealer issue now.
It's not a good design either, maybe adequate but less then I would expect from a tractor that size from a major manufacturer.
Looking at the pictures I don't see any pre-existing cracks or damage to the cast mount, is it possible that the 3pt bound up when raised/lowered?
As many of these tractors are out there I wouldn't think this is a common issue. I have to believe some excessive force broke this, either during your use or before you recieved it.
I don't think anyone is saying all single shear designs are bad, however in this application it is.The design failure is the mounting point, not that it's supported on one side, it's no point flagging all those designs as bad.
Must be cast steel on such a part, cast iron is way to brittle.
