Had a nest by out common mail boxes.
Went after dark with a plastic bag and 'bagged' the nest, tied it closed and end of ball game.
The mail carrier thanked me!

Find the exact location of their hole during the day, at night pour gasoline in the hole and cover it with a rock.

Yeah, for them in the ground I do the same except I start with wasp spray, then the gasoline, light it, then follow up with the propane mosquito fogger to drive it deep, then the rock. :punch:

All the experienced beekeepers I know wear a veil when working bees even though many of us work in a t shirt and without gloves. If you are going to mess with nests you really should wear a veil. It is one thing to get stung on the hand or arm but you do not want to take a sting on the face, especially an eyelid, nostril, lip or such. If I ever give up bee keeping I will still keep a veil around.

And don't forget! When you get stung, apply the juice of an onion to the sting and it will stop the pain almost instantly. No joke.

Aloe plant works.

regular bleach will also kill the vermin in many types of stings. Vinegar will help but not near as well. Once only thing I had was ice cubes and placed them on the wasp sting and it did a good job also. If you get what we call redbugs here and think most call them chiggers a bath in water with say a cup of bleach normally takes care of them also.

My guess is bleach and maybe the onion and aloe Vera is changing the ph enough to affect their chemical.

Maybe already mentioned but soapy water kills wasps and yellow jackets.

TEMPO dust is the best insecticide I致e used for yellow jackets and wasps. Wait until early dawn to approach the nest and apply the dust. The entire nest will be wiped out in two days. Be cautious when approaching the nest. Yellow jackets are different from other wasps in that they always have three or four sentries guarding the nest, so as you apply the dust you don稚 want to dally, get it done and get out.

I just received my Tempo Dust per your recommendation. I'll give it a try. I cant get to the nest, but I can sprinkle it around where they enter between the boards.
Hope that works.
