For us Ford fans, Ford will release their F150 electric in 2022.

The HVAC is independent of the drive system. Tesla has a 田amp mode for deliberately leaving the HVAC system running all night while one sleeps in the car. This is observed to draw 1-1.5 kW. To compare a Model 3 draws 0.260 kWh/mile. So an hour of idling is about 5 miles of range.
very interesting. Thanks. I do like the camp mode idea.

All the wall arts here sell gas, not that i use them. I personally hate Walmart. Costco and holiday and Mavrick sell gas alot cheaper than wallyworld does.

Cool! I like their 600 HP four motor F-150 that they showed off at a trade event in 2014.

You are deliberately not reading what I wrote but what you want to see.
actually i was not. Someone commented about the ridiculous price to replace batteries. You commented back that its no different than replacing an engine every 10 years...at least thats what i got out of it. You basically have 3 years left of your warranty on battery. When those go they go fast. You may not need a new battery system in 3 years, who knows. But if you do its going to be spendy. Electric cars will fit alot of peoples situations just fine. Not mine. I tow a 30 foot horse trailer with a 1 ton truck. Im not about to spend a small fortune on a big rig electric vehicle. If i lived in a city and drove to work, food and home i would probably love an electric vehicle.

Now, for you electric vehicle owners , heres a question that i have always wanted to know. It doesnt apply where i live, but when i lived in Southern California, i would be stuck in traffic jams more times than not. Sometimes crawling a few miles in an hour in 100 degree miserable heat. This is the main reason i moved in 1993. I know that the electric vehicles are designed with city driving in mind. How do they handle this. Does ac keep operating? Can they run out of power after so many hours at standstill? How do you recharge in middle of freeway? Just wondering.

I find it is the same as with a gas or diesel vehicle. If you drive with the low fuel light burning problems can happen. :(

Just curious as to what happens when the masses go electric and the grid finally fails from lack of upgrades / maintenance? It ain't all that good presently. What about then? No juice no charge. No charge, no go.

All i do know......i have had a few calls lately about people wanting to add 32 ampplus chargers to their house ... which currently have a whole house generator backup and want gen to power the chargers.... the generators are barely powering their house now. A 32 plus amp load is going to overtax the lower kw units, and could do so for the larger air cooled units. I will need to add some load shed modules to keep things working smoothly. Problem is i have stopped installing generators and dont want to even install the load shed units. Im trying to only stick with generator maintenance. Its always something.

Here's the way I figure it.
What's the purpose of a truck?
To haul and/or tow things.
About a year ago I bought this '93 F150 4x4 for $2,000. I paid $220 for 4 new tires. 300 cu in 6, 4 speed. AC works. Gas about 15mpg.
It gets washed when it rains, gets scratched by brush going through woods, etc. It wouldn't impress anyone but it hauls and tows things.
A few days after I bought it my neighbor bought a brand new F150, 4x4 crew cab. The electric tailgate he can open with his cell phone app. I didn't ask, but I'm guessing $50-$60K. Gas about 23mpg.
It hauls and tows things...as long as nothing scratches it.
I've pulled trees out of the woods and snapped lots of tow straps. New trucks normally are never driven on grass.
Bottom line is if you take paper and pencil, line drawn down middle, then write down costs first, factoring in what interest that money would make over time, depreciation, finance charges (If any), fuel+ maintenance, etc. Then if electric cost of the home charge system, batteries.
I've always been curious if all roads were tunnels so no one could see what you drove...what would people drive?
To make any decision you have to factor in all aspects, without factoring in what others think or ego. It should be your best fit , the most practical.
