That picture clearly defines the complexity of your build.

Nice work!!!

Eddie finished installing boiler piping.
Kermit and I installed stair railing.

Awesome stairs!!!! Has the railing held up to kids swinging around it???

I had a much simpler railing on the stairs going down into our basement. I finally had to replace the end post with one that ran to the ceiling so it could handle 3 boys!!! :)

The bottom post is bolted to the side of the stairs. At the top of the stairs, the rail turns into the wall and is bolted in. The spindles are in holes in the bottom of the rails, should be nailed with a Brad but I never did. Bottom of spindles are in a countersunk hole in the step. 2 spindles per step means they are different lengths.
I’m glad Kermit (RIP) knew what he was doing.

That pic taken last night, so it has held up.

19970922 Monday

Took day off work
Started putting on kitchen cabinet doors. Bank inspector came while I was doing that. As soon as she left I stopped to do other important work. The cabinet doors didn’t all get installed till almost Christmas.
Electrical and plumbing both failed final. Don’t remember why, wasn’t anything major. Fixed them that day. Scheduled reinspection.
Installed boiler exhaust pipe to the side shot power exhaust. Simple up and over.

I used it once. Didn’t need a key, and I watched how they started it. Lol

19970923 Tuesday

Worked
Electric and plumbing both passed final inspection
Water tested.
Basement insulator didn’t show. The insulation price included them doing the basement walls at the end of the build.

One of the baths.
IMG_6201.JPG

House was finished with 2 baths upstairs, half downstairs, and a roughin in the basement. I added the full basement bath the next summer. Permit also had a covered deck. Added the deck the next spring, but never covered it.
Never built the fireplace and chimney above the hearth.
Put a pellet stove in it’s place. 073D86AB-F56E-4719-9B73-20D49840A3DD-6043-000007BE253EF933.JPG
Here is the hearth and header where the fireplace would go. There is also a flue brought up to the first level for a wood stove connection in the basement. Chimney would of had 2 flues.
