Building an 8遅16 gooseneck dump trailer

If you go to your Diamond C link, at the top of the page is has a list of styles, highlight them and it will give the models. They will show single or dual. In general a 10-12k dually axle will have 16" tires as standard, with some manufactures offering a 17.5 upgrade. At 16k plus the 17.5 becomes standard.

I have not seen a 215, over 16 ply or over 4800 lb rated. Not saying there not out there but I have not seen them. The 235 is 18 ply and 6k rated, again that is the only rating I have seen.

If you go to the build your trailer tab on the deck over dump trailer page when you select the 20k option it automatically adds 215/75-17.5 tires as standard equipment. Are you saying they are singles?

Yes, the only dually dump I see is the 8'x16'-20' solid sides.

Are you sure it had fold down sides? You have a good eye if you can tell it is 16'.
Definitely had fold down sides. I could see multiple hinges at bottom edge of sides. The 16 length was a guess, but Im pretty sure, dont know why my length guess really matters.
Its the dual wheels with folding sides that surprised me.

Here ya go, might be what you saw. Probably cost more than Diamond C. First one I have found.

Lots of options on this one, but hard to understand. Maybe call and see, it does show drop down sides but not sure what else, axle/dually wise.

Thanks for the links.
Strange that very few trailer manufacturers offer a folding side, 10k dually dump.
Seems like a no brainer for guys buying heavy materials on pallets, logs, etc.

Probably not much call for them. In your case it would work fine, some way to unload hay bales without a loader. However, with the light duty shallow sides they won't hold much volume for normal dump trailer duties. The sides are short so they will clear the ground when folded down and prevent a user from overloading the side strength with the capabilities of a big dually. With 3' or 4' sides they need to be solid with the side stress of a big load of rock/cinders.

Pallet material needs a loader so a flatbed works fine, no need for a dump. They just look like they are not a good flatbed nor a dump trailer. Kind of a red headed step child:D
