dont see any mention on the ad that its certified. any form of rollover protection added to a tractor that had none is better than none.
also my kioti came factory with rops and there is no certification on it.

Great decision!

Somebody posted here "We had a YM240 at the plant. All flat, paved. We occasionally looked out after hearing a racket saw it laying on its side with the loader raised all the way up".

After thinking about that I bought the ROPS as soon as it became available. My orchard is 100% slopes.

I recall you having an ordeal with a machine that slide and gotten stuck on the fence line. Nice way to get the machines out.

All my neighbors have tractors. The scary one is the Massey-Harris 44 trike style. That rearward seat is a metal pan just outrigged literally off the back end. Even with a ROPS, should the front end come up, your are a dead man. That seat just bounces on flat ground too. Not a machine for hills or anything else really.

When I was a kid a neighbor said this is how his dad became disabled: He started to pull a huge trailer uphill with a small crawler. The crawler had too much traction, it simply walked over backward when it couldn't move the trailer. The father was later a diesel mechanic so he at least survived.

Just bought one from that same store. Different ROPS but I rolled it and the ROPS broke out of the bolt holes and broke the bolt holes on the pto cover. I wouldn't advise buying from them.

I love Yanmar, but being a 3 SPEED (Can that even be correct?) would make any talk of ROPS a moot point. The structure crumpling wouldn't concern me nearly as much as the thing ripping off the tractor. That thing could be the thing that kills you.

With certain tractor deals, you always seem to get exactly what you pay for.

Welcome!

And wow! Do you have any pictures of the damage? You escaped ok?

Which seller?

?? Two speed transfer case, then behind that, 3 or 4 speed manual or 3-speed Powershift (clutchless shift) transmission. Top speed for these isn't very fast. Maybe 8 ~ 11 mph for the old ones in this thread. Not road speed.

I read the OSHA standards for a ROPS. They test thoroughly. The standards seemed sufficient for any practical use of the tractor.

How did you roll it?
Did the ROPS provide any protection?

The previous owner of my property left several piles of "construction material" (garbage) in several places. He then got old and stopped maintaining the property and I ran over a half-buried 3pt rake covered in blackberries. Ballast is going on this week and I am swapping the tires before I use it again.

The ROPS did work but when it broke off it damaged both of my fenders, my seat, and eventually my wallet. I am looking for a way to fix this without buying the 400$ cast iron pto cover. Maybe some brackets that are stronger than the 2 inches of cast iron?

You never know. Maybe certain models were made (cheaply) to fulfill a bidding process and it only had a 3 speed. Like for pulling a cart around an auto plant. Who knows? You gota know what you are buying. Friend just got a screaming deal on a MF 1035? only to realize it has no remotes! After the hassle and expnse, it won't be any deal at all. No ROPS on that either.
