^^^ you pribably have said and I do not recall, but what feeds your lake? Stream? Spring? Ground water level?
. It's completely spring fed. All down at my end of the lake. This is a shot from Google Earth Pro with the property lines superimposed. Martin Lk( named after the original homesteader) = five acres of open water//five acres of cattails. House & outbuildings are clustered around the SE end of the lake. My aluminum dock is down by the cattails. Only place on this side of the lake where there is access. View attachment 685338

^^^^ Slice of heaven right there. You have part of the second lake as well it looks like. Wow! Nice.

Saw this little guy in Ohio last weekend. A mink, I think. He wouldn't hold still for more than a few seconds. Guess he wanted to eat that frog and I was interrupting his lunch.

Forty years ago I planted lots of white pines.
We're getting lots of freezing rain and we can hear all the limbs snapping. I'll have a lot of clean up to do.
Other trees like last picture seem fine.20210213_171909.jpg20210213_171916.jpg20210213_172127.jpg20210213_172221.jpg

A few more photos from the weekend before last.
These were taken near the Lorain Harbor Lighthouse in Ohio, on Lake Erie.

Here's a bunch of birds from a local nature reserve near Latrobe, PA.
I took these all last Sunday afternoon.

Some shots from yesterday.
Nothing like standing out in the middle of a frozen lake with wind chills below zero!

Wow, we have pileated woodpeckers also but never seen damage like that. Will that kill the trees?

Love your bird pics. We keep several feeders out year round and enjoy the visitors.
Thanks. I have several feeders as well, but rarely photograph the birds at my own house.

Wife and I finally got sick of staying/working from home and I bought a slightly used RV. We have been on the road for about 3 weeks now traveling the western states and working from our 'mobile home'. Enjoying the Grand Canyon...

and then Death Valley...

I had no idea of the diversity and beauty of Death Valley. I previously thought it was a flat desert wasteland. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Maybe not in the summer though! :fiery:
