could you expand on ... supply is redirected ?
Most of the supply was being distributed to Hospitals and County approved sites such as nursing homes, etc.

The problem became equitable distribution in that underserved communities voiced concern the distribution was not meeting the community needs as represented by higher rates of Covid.

Important to note minority Asian populations did not have higher incidence of Covid and often have greater rate of vaccination.

Community Organizers voiced concern Latin X and people of color, Except Asians, would feel more comfortable with sites in their communities staffed by people like them.

The State ordered 40% of the supply target underserved/lowest income zip codes.

The inequity is 17% of vaccines to lowest income areas whereas 34% to highest income areas.

I'm sure this is a factor why Hospitals came up short at least temporarily resulting in tens of thousands of second doses cancelled... 40,000 due in just Sutter network notified and no new first shots.

The leaders say redirecting is a good first step but additional barriers exist such as language, trust, mobility that need to be addessed.

One of the bad optics is an early community based site at the public school staffed by volunteer Doctors and Nurses was in a very well to do community with limited public transportation... again it was all volunteer and open to all but all could get there.

Johnson and Johnson will alleviate/help as it is one and done and does not require the cryogenic storage...

My wife and I got our second Pfizer shot yesterday morning. Both of us had slight muscle soreness by late afternoon.

This morning, no pain for me and very slight pain for her. (y)

My 1st Pfizer shot last evening went well. Felt fine all night. Was quite productive even. Went to bed around midnight. Woke up around 5:45 this morning with slight headache, fuzzy head and stuffed ears, no appetite. Same symptoms I had when I had COVID back in Nov/Dec. A couple hours later I knew I didn't want to go to work and I called in sick. Took some tylenol and now around 1:45pm I'm feeling better. Not too bad I guess. Arm soreness went away, too.

That duplicates my experience with Pfizer. And makes me more convinced that I had light Covid months ago, causing this next-day reaction.

Had 2nd shot of Moderna yesterday. Didn't feel to bad till this morning. Got up, pee'd, brushed teeth said f'this and went back to bed until now. Oh well they said you might feel worse than the 1st shot. don't feel to bad now.

I've had both Moderna shots - zero side effects.

You maybe did . . . I had my first Pfizer Wednesday . . . so far I have not experienced any impact from it . . . I don't believe I have had covid-19 (I'm 78).

Kaiser up here (home, not ranch) seems to be working more smoothly than the chaos in the Bay Area. Last week I got my first Pfizer shot at their mass vaccination site at Cal Expo, and my wife got her first Moderna shot there yesterday. Kaiser had sent us invitations timely without any request on our part.

Sonoma County (ranch) is more like the Bay Area, in fact it is part of it and shares the same unpredictable planning, per local news. The neighbor who prunes, harvests, etc my orchard along with his much larger operation told me all 8 of the crew living in his dormitory had Covid at the same time but he somehow avoided it.

I had a new roof scheduled last year and first it was shutdown and later entire company had Covid... just now installed... tarp and furring strips did a good temp job.

One of the big boiler companies also lost/delayed a lot of work due to Covid...

Somehow the surgical unit I am assigned has so far avoided Covid... can’t take credit but every surface every time plus best practices followed and then some... some days 12,000 steps just cleaning/sanitizing.

Sure you can take credit. You're doing it right!
