There is absolutely ZERO justification for anyone to break laws against wildlife i.e. poaching....calling it a tradition is no different than conspiring to commit any other crime...

There is not a region in this country that does not have some kind of local or regional food bank program as well as government assistance...there is no excuse for someone to claim that poaching game is the only way to "have some meat or eat"...it's nothing but a lie that ill bred people use to justify the fact that they don't think the rules apply to them...or are too lazy to learn the skills required to take legal game in a legal manor...!

You are right Piney and I'll back it up with personal knowledge and experience. We have wild pigs for the taking but folks sit on their porchs waiting for hand outs. They claim they are too poor to afford guns and ammo eventhough people are continuesly shot in the nieghborhood. We say we will deliver field dressed pigs free but no takers. They claim to not know how to skin and process so we offer showing them but still no takers. 80% of people news media call under priviledged I call under motivated. We process a few for people who are truly unable but leave enough for buzzards to feed many others.

Very true, I'm unaware that was going on!
We don't want poachers here and absolutely no excuse for doing it.

I agree with you 1000%.

But - I still believe the rules are backwards. It should be illegal to go onto someone else’s land automatically. Why do no signs mean it’s unlimited access?

People should have to post “open land - come on in” v. have to post “no trespassing”.

I rarely see no trespassing signs in the city or in folks yards. Does that mean I can have a campfire on their lawn? Why do we have to post signs?

I believe it's at our door and will be coming in shortly. On a daily basis we see people on tv acting out for no reason other than show society how far they can go while protected under existing laws. If you found someone camped in your front yard tomorrow and broke their arm while forcing them off,lawyers would have your house and head if the perp had a loose screw,a bad childhood,was under the influnce or the incident harmed perp's self-image. All those have recently been used to convict (some in court,some in public opinion) attack victims who injured or killed their attackers. Don't you think that's more than enough precedence when perp was simply resting on your unused from lawn when you escorted him off?

I remember some time ago North Carolina "man of God" (AKA minister) had the same line of thinking, but it wasn't for poor people who wouldn't get off their butt...

“Build a great big large fence 50 or 100 miles long,” Worley said according to the video posted on YouTube. “Put all the lesbians in there. Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals. Have that fence electrified so they can’t get out. You know what, in a few years, they’ll die out. You know why? They can’t reproduce.”

Then you have the wackadoodle from the 40's as a prime example of when the government decides who gets put in "camps"...
