If I were you, I’d look harder in your area. Buying northern rust belt equipment sitting outside is just buying depreciation. Even if its cheaper, you still have to pay crazy money for shipping and the paints probably already 25% shot.
What I am looking for they would not have in stock.

Is there a close alternative in your area? I find that getting exactly what you want is very gratifying, but at what price? Theres the exact trailer I want in Florida, but its expensive to make a 1500 mile trip these days. I found a close alternative just 70 miles from me.
Have you looked in other southern states, Florida…Texas?
You’ll pay less and probably get a nicer unit.

Yes and Orchard grasses, too.

We have an entire farm we took over from a farmer that passed a few years back. We are continuing to disc or no till Timothy into about 30 acres on it for our feed hay customers.
I did 42 acres of endophyte free fescue last August for our beef customers.

Delivery to a Cattle Rancher about 30 miles west of me.

This is not an easy question to answer. Is there a close alternative for Kubota? No. Is there a close alternative for Deere? Maybe. Overall the dealers are frustrating to deal with.

Yes but freight became one of the issues with the dealer in TX.

Not necessarily. That's why I think we could all do each other a favor if we share the good dealers we come across or know about with the whole community so we can have alternatives.

I have Messicks near me. They are huge, but family owned. They usually have tremendous inventory, but I’d think shipping might be quite expensive. They are probably 800-900 miles from you?
When I have been in your situation, I went back to the drawing board and with extra research, found some great farm equipment. Sometimes I had my heart set on a particular brand and model. It’s wasnt available. After some additional research, I found an alternative I was happier with than the original model I wanted.

If things don't change I might just have to do that.

Start tomorrow
I bet you find something you like even more. Also have you looked on all the tractor websites? Tractor House? FastLine? Machinery Pete?

The problem is location of nearest dealer. Deere and Kubota are the closest to me. The others are not. Yes I have looked on those websites quite a bit.

What Keith told me today, I was there. He said it's not even built yet but he's working on a price anyway.
Yeah he said the same thing to me yesterday. What's strange about it is my dealer down here already has some.

He has a boatload of new ones in stock, mostly small ones though. I think he has 2 or 3 M 121's? I know he has a couple 2 basket tedders and one disc mower in the back.

I think I have become too old for this world....
looking through the local C-list, came across this add for a motocross bike.

I was amused to say the least. Then i looked up what the MSRP was.... $11 K. :)

I prefer my beef to be grass fed from start to finish...no grain at all.

The upper pastures are the cows summer range. The beef is so tender and delicate when allowed to just free range.

So on the farms you visit, are you like the zoo guy, where when the animals see him walking down the sidewalk they all follow him because they know that he's the one with the food?

Not really. I have a 4 basket in the barn I rarely use. I have no need for a tedder with the Masterdrive Hay Dudette...

Of course running mulch hay for mushroom bedding, it really don't matter right? Shrooms like moldy, wet grass to grow on....
