Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

/ Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing #201
Hay Dude I think you planted the seed in my mind last week when you wrote this ^^^ After another round of failed attempts to try and work with the local Deere dealers yesterday I finally came to my whit's end with them and gave up. I could see the writing on the wall and my back up alternative was not much better. After staying awake most of the night last night thinking about everything, I finally came to the conclusion that I need to broaden my horizons. And broaden my horizons I did. I made several phone calls to all the local Kioti dealers I could find in my state and man was there a huge difference in the kind of treatment and response that I got from them! Looking back, I wish I had done this sooner but I was hung up on concerns about things that I later realized were not as big of a deal as I once considered them to be. And just to let all of you know, the price was not what made me decide to throw in the towel with Deere and Kubota although it played a major role in it. I will keep you all posted as I believe I may have a deal together soon.
Have you gone back to your local dealers and asked them if they have any tractors on order/not yet arrived that fit your needs?
Hate to see anyone pay shipping, unless the price is enough less a the far away dealer that it is similar to local dealer.

Yes, but also CNH or AGCO dealers, too.
We don't have CNH down here, I wish we did as I really like the boomers. We have one AGCO dealer way across on the other side of town but I couldn't get anywhere with them when I tried to deal with them a while back. Unfortunately, where I live there aren't any good dealers close by. The closest Kioti dealer is an hour away from me. This is why the cliché advice often given to everyone about finding a good dealer needs to be revised. Finding a good dealer may mean for some that they will be buying out of town and if the tractor needs warranty work then it may cost them considerable time or money to truck it back to that dealer.

What are your local farmers using?

I figured Alabama would have a LOT of farming activity?
No new Holland or Case-IH dealers in your area?

Some parts of it do but it just so happens that my particular area does not. No, in fact CNH doesn't have a single location anymore in my entire state.

That was my dilemma. The local Kubota dealer is nearly 50% higher on everything than other regional dealers that are an hour away. My local JD dealer (40 minutes away) lost me as a customer when he charged me ~$1,000 for a belts, blades and new fan blade for my hydro on my x394 mower (it appears he charged separate labor for each item as if it was the only only thing they were doing). They also never had any tractors to look at, unless I wanted to order one. Then I could see it. Massey dealers are all over an hour away.

I am right between two Kioti dealers, both about an hour away, but one took the time to talk to me, deal with me, and show me around their service shop. They were responsive to calls and emails and were very flexible with substituting and add-ons. I am happy with my purchase with them.

I want to report to everyone that is following this thread that I called some dealers on Tractor House yesterday and what I am finding is the "Call for Price" means they are asking MSRP. If they don't give you their price on the website then they're price gouging.

Interesting as I have never heard of equipment radar. What is it exactly?
I googled “Case-IH dealers in Alabama” and I guess one of the selections I selected was called equipment radar. Its probably a search engine for equipment dealers?
I actually owned a tractor from HR Agri-Power. I think they are pretty big in the Deep South.

Looks like theres AGCO dealers in AL
Atlantic & Southern, Artec & Snead.
