Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I re use my cover if iam not using the PTO I slap it right back on.

I do not know that i will keep it on or delete it, depends on how much trouble it is to remove and reinstall.

The ROPS was a pain, i have no idea why the plastic knobs are on it, but you do have to loosen them in order to lower the ROPS.

MY 5145 was delivered yesterday, I took the afternoon off to play. It now has 3 hours on it. It developed a small hydraulic leak on the 3rd function line at the bucket. I tightened a fitting and it stopped. So far the tractor has exceeding my expectations in every way. 4 inch huisache does not stand a chance against the grapple. The dealer quoted $800.00 for the 50 hr service, but that is with them picking up the tractor, a lot of money but from what I hear the 50hr is a PITA. does anyone have opinion on the cost of the 50 hr?

BTW my dealer pointed out the plastic PTO cover to me telling me that they had removed it and scraped off the paint then replaced the cover.

thanks for the data point, on another note the service manage pointed out the diagnostic port on my 5145, it is under the seat.

I’m glad to know I was not the only one who had problems with the ROPS. I have not backed out the knobs yet. That will probably help me lower them.

yea I could lean the ROPS back about 15 deg and no more until I loosened the knobs, then it fell down the rest of the way. have to watch out for the springs on the pins also they are not retained on the pins at all, i spent 20 min looking for them in the grass.

The operators manual says to clean the trans suction strainer at 50 hrs and every 1100 hrs afterwards. To clean the strainer, all hydraulic oil must be drained. It may be common practice to reuse the oil after the 50 hr strainer cleaning. Suggest you consider having new oil which may be of a higher quality than the oil installed in India. Plus, any original contaminants from the machining etc will be removed. Yes, the 50 hr is a PITA. Did it on my 4550. Fortunately, we have a guy nearby who uses waste oil to heat his garage so disposal was not a problem. You can get original filters from India on eBay at a good cost.

my dealer suggested that the oil was to be replaced at 50 hrs, I can get rid of used oil no problem. I have not checked on replacement filters yet but i need to 50 hours will come quickly for me.

so is the oil filter and hydraulic filter for the 5145 the same as the 4500 series, nobody seems to list any filter for the 5100 series yet?

I would be excited to know the answer to this question as well. I like to keep a stock of filters for 1-2 service intervals on hand, so I currently have multiple engine oil, hydraulic, and air filters. I'm thinking I'll be trading my 4540 in towards a 5155 in the near future and am curious if the filters are interchangeable. It wouldn't really surprise me if they were all the same since the 4500 and 5100 series share the same engine platform and hydraulic pump.

When I go looking at all the parts places, they don't have the 5100 series listed, I guess because it's so new
