Took me long enough. I 'spect it'll take less time as I progress around the field.

I do like that little stretcher I made. Nothing slips, not a bit, not at all, not any.
About 25 years ago our kids started little league. Another dad and I built a t-ball diamond about 5 years after that. We learned a lot about fence stretching on that project. No youtube back then. 🙃

Stretcher about a foot before the tie post, not after. Cut, tie, then release tension.

I cut verticals and then go all the way around, wrap the wire back on itself. just need about 3 loose staples top bottom and center to keep it from moving vertically. this lets it move a little with the seasons and the tension stays in the fence longer, preventing broken wires at stress points at the tight staples. The temp swings here from max of 100+ to -30 or -40, so more change in length over a season than a lot of places.
