Watch some of the “ we the people” videos on YouTube and watch some of these cops get their behinds handed to them. Your only obligation is to show them ID after they tell you the violation you are being stopped for.

I’ve been pulled over for doing a little over, 55 in a 50. Just an excuse to look in the windows and ask questions that aren’t pertinent.

Reminds me of a time I was with my my brother who got pulled over. He had cruise control set for the exact speed limit. Cop was following cars going other direction. After going by he flips around and pulls us over. My brother asked, “what did you stop me for?” Cop says “ if I tell you that I’ll have to give you a ticket”.
Just wanted to check out a couple young kids, that’s all it was. Totally illegal stop.

The town that I grew up in had what they called a "routine traffic stop", where they would just pull a car driven by a young driver over and go through it, looking for something wrong. Somebody finally took them to court, and it was ruled unconstitutional.
One evening when I was about 16 I went for a walk, traversing the family 30 acres, across the road into the cemetery to visit my grandfather, down the road 1/3 mile to visit my grandmother, (she was alive)and just basically enjoying the evening. As I was on the way home a police car stopped with two officers and they asked me where I was coming from. I'd been all around and was walking next to my parent's property so I just said that I lived right up on the hill. He snapped "I didn't ask you where you lived, I asked you where you've been." The correct answer would have been "none of your business", but I was raised differently, and don't remember what I said.

I've been stopped by police 6 times in my life.
- 60 in a 55 zone - got a ticket. It was during a police action in Michigan when they were fighting for raises and ticketed everyone for everything, spitting on the sidewalk kind of stuff. I paid it.
- 60 in a 40 zone. I was going 120 on my drag bike, saw the cop coming and laid on the brakes. Got off lucky.
- Headlight out on pickup truck. Told the cop I was fishing at a farmer's pond, backed down a hill to retrieve my boat, hit a bump and the rusted battery tray gave way and the battery fell forward and broke the connector off of the back of the sealed beam. I still had the boat in the back of the bed. He told me to get it fixed, and to move my license plate from the back window to the bumper mount where it belonged, and suggested I get rid of that rusty old truck. No ticket. Nice guy.
- Pulled over for excessive lane changing. Speed limit was 35. I was going 35. Everyone else was going 25. I was just moving through traffic, using my signals. Cop asked if I was in a hurry or always drove like that. I told him, no, I wasn't in a hurry. I was taking my kids to pick up my wife and we had another 20 minutes to go about 1/4 mile, and yes, I always drive like that. He told me to be more patient and try to be a better driver. No ticket.
- Pulled over for right turn on red with a sign posted no turn on red. No cars anywhere but an airport cop sitting in a parking lot up the block. He turned on his lights before I got to him, so I stopped before him. That ticked him off, as he started flapping his arms to get me to drive past him so he could pull behind me. I wouldn't move the car. So he had to drive across the lanes, go around past me, turn around, and come back behind me. He came up and started cussing at me. I asked him to watch his language around my wife and kids. No ticket.
- Pulled over for running a red light. Very late at night. No cars anywhere. Moving along on the highway at 60mph and the light changed. I was already in the solid white lines, my wife was very pregnant, I didn't want to slam the brakes since the seat belt was under her belly, plus I was pretty sure I'd have to lock the brakes to stop before the intersection, so I just maintained my speed. The light turned red after I crossed into the intersection. One of those probably could have stopped, but might have not maintained control if I did situations. State cop was sitting in State Police Post parking lot on other side of intersection with his lights off. Pulled me over. Told me I ran the light. I told him it was close, but I think I made it, and, told him about not wanting to injure my pregnant wife. He looked in, saw I wasn't lying, checked my license, came back and said might want to slow down approaching intersections and have a nice evening. No ticket.

So, every time I've been pulled over, it was a valid reason. Only once was the cop a jerk. The rest were polite and professional.

Been stopped at least 3 times in VA, where they just stop every car going by. Just to check you out. Never a reason, not even a DUI checkpoint. Totally illegal.

One was a rainy night, multi lane divided highway with crossovers. I was below speed limit, saw police car lights on other side, slowed down some more. Almost ran into a trooper who walked out in front of my car in a black rain suit. But he was holding up a red flashlight that you couldn’t even see since it was dark, but the police car lights were blinding. What an idiot. Just one of their random stops.

Pulled over description matching road rage or drunk or changing speed... not too slow or too fast.

No road rage, no drinking and I missed a turn off because I was in the wrong lane and decided to continue to the next.

Stopped many times driving with Dealer Tags... just because.

I guess a 16 year old driving a brand new car with a single plate hanging on the back??? Picking up, moving, getting gas, demo, etc...

The one that I will always remember is racial profiling... had a late night service call for no hot water... the area was 100% African American and I'm not... officer also African American.

Officer said he stopped because I didn't belong in the neighborhood...

Explained what I was doing and after he checked license and insurance let me go but still watched.

Got to know him later... he said he grew up in the neighborhood and was tired of outsiders coming in looking for drugs or women...

Racial profiling is real but it cuts both ways...

The best was my friend pulled over and the officer said I know you and he kept asking how do I know you... tickets, warrants, etc?

Friend said you do speed enforcement where I live and park in my driveway and everytime you pull out with the siren you wake the twins...

Officer said have a nice day sir you are free to go...

There have got to be easier things to hide after they're stolen.
