Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean that there isn't someone out there waiting to get you
That is precisely the mind set lawyers want. I liken it to a pack of dogs sitting beneath a tree in which is a bunch of frightened cats that have been de-clawed. It's sickening.I'm not paranoid. I have nothing to do with the OP's situation.
However, it's a fact that every so often the moderators get a PM request from a TBN member to remove a thread they started to complain about (you pick) a dealer, manufacturer, store, neighbor, seller, buyer, etc... because they have been threatened with legal action for their comments. In some of the cases, no names or addresses were mentioned. So how did the info about the thread get back to the other party?

Did not even remotely suggest that YOU were paranoid.
Rather that the concept is a bit paranoid, when names and addresses are not even mentioned.
Kinda difficult to track anyone down when you have no idea who they are, or where they live, in the entire world.
Should it be a concern that TBN would divulge such information?
Do not know FL law, but in many states there is a statutory waiting period. Of course that does not excuse how long it took him to get things into court. I would call another lawyer down there for a consult. Ask them how long the process should take and have them walk you through what they would do. Then determine if you need to fire your current lawyer or not.
As for the statutory (or inchoate) share, every state has that (I believe). The only person you cannot completely cut out of your will is the spouse you are married to at the time of your death, unless you had a prenup that allows you to.
Sadly, this may not actually help. I know someone that was executor of a small, simple will that had the same problems as the OP. They consulted another attorney who said that there is no reason for it to take this long. The person switched lawyers and the second one was just as bad/slow.
I hope your WRONG! The one I fired yesterday dropped the ball didnt file the correct papers with the court Oct 24th 2019 that's why the long wait.
Well it felt real good I text him and told him your fired!
You probably need to follow up with a certified letter. I think this was warranted based on lack of communication alone.
You might not get your probate resolved to your liking or time line but there is no excuse for ignoring a client.

Joan this was is 2-1/2 years ago, it has probably been settled by now....Get another lawyer and don't waste your time.
My family has dealt with two or three probate lawyers over the years and I don't remember one who wasn't slow. My brother finally got one to move by letting him know that if he didn't get closure soon, he'd pay him for what he'd done if he'd hand back the paperwork so he could take it to someone else.I am at my wit end with this lawyer! Long story short this is a easy probate case, started on 6/4/19 I dont understand why it took this guy till the end of Oct. To send it to the court. My mother didnt have multi bank accounts or own land or have over sea accounts almost 5 months seem long. He also doesn't return my phone calls or text messages I send he gives me no hop this will ever get done!!!!!.
15k per year, per person, and/or org. If you are on the receiving end, you can figure it out to your advantage.Don't go to probate. The ideal situation is NOT to have an estate in the first place. Clear titles with assigned rights of survivership. And if you know you only have so many days, GIFT bits and parts away. I think its 16K TAX FREE right now.
