Tractor
Kioti DK5010 with KL5510 Loader & 72" Bucket. Kawasaki Mule Pro MX SE with 66" snow plow.
The widest point on my 50 hp Kioti tractor is about 63" at the rear tires. I am considering a 6' or 7' plow. The max angle the plow goes to is 30 degrees. What do you recommend and why? May order one tomorrow (Thursday 11/10).

Thanks for your assistance!!!

I’d say 7 foot. I own a much smaller tractor, a JD 2025r. I don’t use a front blade but I do use a rear blade for snow removal and it’s 6 foot. It’s the perfect size for my tractor. This leads me to believe a 7 footer would be good for you.

Seems with that width of tractor, you'd have to got with 7ft.

7 foot...once you angle the blade, you'll lose the width you will plow.
6 foot would probably result in a width less than the maximum width of your tractor

Why a plow instead of a snow blower for your conditions???????
You can get really hung up and start ditch diving with a plow before you realize if the ground is soft.
The other thing is if you are going to mount it in the bucket you can really do some damage to your
loader frame.

I have a snowblower already. It has its uses but also want an attachment that is quicker to get the job done as well.

Since we got a 6ft blade on our 6x6, we pretty much quite the blowing business. And we really do receive snow here.

As Roy wrote.
I like least 8" be on rear tire angle plowing around corners.

I agree with other's going with the 7' over the 6'. It is nice having some space between the tread and the berm of snow so you don't get sucked in. Will it be a rear blade or front plow?

Same here...for nuisance snows (<5"), the blade is quicker...

Do you mean the plow being 16" wider than the width across the rear tires?
8" total...little more is better, but 8" (4" per side) is the minimum.
My blade is 6', so if I angle a full 30°, my rear tires width is a bit wider than the plowing width. So, I never angle the blade more than 15°

It's a front snow plow.

Do you know the total width across the tires? Interested to see how much width you actually lose at 30 degrees.

My white, step-version of a Kioti is basically the same width and runs a 7' on both the front and rear. I definitely wouldn't want any narrower.

It's seeming pretty clear to go with the 7' over the 6'. Would you go any wider???

Depends on how much snow you get at once. If you think your tractor can push your snow with your setup, chains no chains? Bigger is always faster, but not if you need to lift if you can’t push.

From my perspective, the best snow blade is one that can move way out to one side. Mostly back blades do that. I have to push snow 20’ off to each side of the drive to make room for more snow. So I end up with 5-10’ high snow on each side and unless the blade is 2 feet out to one side it makes it impossible without pushing 90* to make room. That is why they make snow blowers :)

Not exactly sure what you mean but the snow the blade pushes out, some moves back towards your tractor. So you need a little ertax blade width to minize that roll back effect.

Nope, never measured the width...just an eyeball WAG.
15 degrees does fine and less pushing the tractor

In your situation, I'd say you need a snow blower
