A couple yrs. ago this bear was woofing at me and I wondered why until I turned around and seen the cub coming so I backed off and took this pick. As soon as I backed off the mother bear showed no concern.

Wow! I’m not sure my first reaction would have been to take a picture.

When I moved here to East Texas, there where no bears in East Texas. Now they are starting to show up on deer cameras in the area. In the last couple of years, I've seen reports of them being as close as 20 miles away. I'm starting to think that it's just a matter of time until I see a black bear on my land.

Copper Falls in northern Idaho close to Canada. It’s hard to tell in the picture unless you notice the person standing in the bottom of the picture it’s had an over 200 foot drop. We were on a vacation that lasted almost a month and my wife twisted her ankle badly about 10 minutes after this picture was taken and we both came down with Covid the next day.

Seen this fella out my office window and by the time I grabbed a camera he'd gone about 60' and was heading up the mt.

A couple wks after the bobcat showed up I seen this guy out my office window walking the opposite way and managed to get this not so good pic. I move when I asked him to turn around for the pic.

That is so cool!!! I kind of wish we had bobcats around our area as I think they are beautiful animals.

But - I understand they can be ferocious.

Do you ever have any concerns about seeing one while you are working outside?

MoKelly, I live on a mt side and been working in the bush nearly ever day here for over 30 yrs. The Bob cat and cougar pics are the only ones I've ever seen other than tracks in the snow. I followed a cougar for a mile or so to get a pic. one winter but it didn't let me catch up and headed straight up steep terrain in deep snow. I have 100's of pics of bears and many coyote's some of which have got use to seeing me and hang around where I'm working. I've had 1 coyote and 1 bear that have laid down and gone to sleep within 30' of me while I was splitting wood or cleaning up limbs. Will post the picks when I fined them.

We see deer, turkey and coyotes all the time - except during hunting season when they disappear.

But nothing as cool as bears, bobcats or cougars.

Your office view is awesome.

I've only seen one mountain lion in my life. I was backpacking with a buddy in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, near Yosemite, and it walked across the side of a ridge. Unbelievably smooth, fluid, and fast. It was just walking, but it covered a lot of very rough ground, very quickly!!!! We where probably 400 yards away. We where watching a group of deer with our binoculars when they all of a sudden disappeared. Then the lion walked by, and then the deer where out again. It was very strange!!!!

I was quail hunting in the high desert early one morning. A light snow had fallen and I came across some lion tracks. I followed a very short way when I saw the small pup tracks off to the side. As I carefully backed up the 1/2 mile to my truck I saw where she had circled back and crossed my tracks. Made me a bit nervous alright...that was the end of that season. lol
Saw a lynx on my security camera last year at the quail water dish on the side of the house. Neighbor lost their chickens in an 8 ft tall pen. No roof, I guess.

Came across this pic I'd forgot. Made a live trap because packs of dogs were chasing wildlife at our place. Besides many dogs & a couple racoons this guy as well. This was about 15 to 20 yrs ago.

This scruffy old coyote showed up for a couple yrs. on and off when I was cleaning up & burning limbs. This day ( last time I ever seen him ) he walked past where I was working then sat down on this moss covered rock 30' away & watched me for a while then laid down but his leg over his eyes and went to sleep. He was there quite a while but eventually when I looked he was gone.
