On that guy filling the bed of the pickup with gas: Why didn't someone just hit the button to shut off the gas pumps? Yeah some others filling their cars would be inconveneinced, but so what! And why follow that truck so closely? With the gas spilling out, stay back enough to talk to 911 or police to give them directions where the guy is headed. Jon

I strongly doubt it's real. Bed was probably full of water when he got there (look at how wet the pavement is under his truck; everything else is bone dry) and at worst you saw him squirt just a bit on top (still bad, but nothing like a whole bed of gas) assuming he wasn't holding a water hose right next to it (I do think he put at least a bit of gas in there though).

The way it's film just reeks of it being set up beforehand.

Could very well be a show, but....To me, still a stupid thing to do. Jon

Would it be advisable to drive a tractor, with the bucket as high as it goes, at a high rate of speed, with two of your children in the bucket, 5 and 7yrs old. I'm suspecting that would be hauling something wrong, don't mean to judge, but just trying to rationalize my neighbors behavior. It's a new tractor, so probably lots of fun. Next time I see him wiz by I'll get a pic.

Wow. That sounds like someone who doesn't understand the equipment very well... Not a good idea, as you well know...

Every engineer worth his salt knows the "bathtub curve" of failure probability versus time. Essentially, all devices and systems have a very high rate of failure when very new and very old, with a much lower probability of failure throughout mid-life.

My current 3033R blew a major hydro seal in its first 3 weeks of use, due to an assembly error at the factory, but has been totally trouble-free the five-plus years since. Hopefully your neighbor doesn't experience any painful examples of this, while the kids are riding high in the bucket.

I don't know that this is really hauling anything "wrong"... I took my truck in for service today and I pulled in right behind this guy.
What in the world would this be used for?

Hitch extender for a truck mounted camper. It extends the hitch beyond the back off the camper. Need to tow the boat!

Have seen a lot of extensions, none that long.

Talked to a few users, “Do you not understand the concept of a lever? How much bending moment you are applying to the receiver?” Answer, “Am not putting more weight on it than it’s rating.” In other words, they don’t understand.

Hopefully a small, short and very light one. Who in their right mind would tow anything mounted on something like that, bet it'd be fun to back up.
