I’m working on my diesel storage barrel. The hose that came with my Harbor Freight 12 volt pump last year is now almost as hard as a rock.

What is a good flexible Fuel Hose 3/4” Dia? I saw the 14’ ones at TSC with crimped on NPT ends.

However, I need a 2’ piece to connect my fuel pickup to my filter with hose clamps. I am using cam lock fittings so I can separate the pickup pipe and put a plug to take it to get filled.

Would silicone hose work?

By "pickup pipe", are you talking about the one that goes down inside the tank?

Yes

I have 1/2 pipe going down into the barrel to about 2" above the bottom with the mesh screen on it up through the 2" bung. I want to be able to pull it out and replace it with a plug when transporting the barrel to be filled.

I guess I'm not quite following. Why take anything out or apart? Just leave the pump and pickup tube in the tank and fill it via the other bung. That's how any standard diesel slip tank is used.

There are two ports on a 55 gallon drum one 3/4” and is too small for my pickup tube and too small for the nozzle where I get off road diesel.

The other is 2” and it is used for filling the barrel and for drawing diesel fuel out for my tractor.

I found some very flexible 3/4” hose at a hydraulic supply shop rated for diesel so that’s what I am using.

The hose is Parker push lock. The guy said it will remain flexible, but knowing if that’s true won’t be for at least year from now and more like five years.
