looking at used JD 3720 or 5045E tractor

I bought one about a year ago. I've put about 50 hours on it. I like it so far, and the only issue is the fuel gauge does not work. We replaced the fuel sensor when I bought it, but the new one didn't last very long.

Here is a link to a thread I started when I got it. My first John Deere

i had a 3720 for a few years. Never had an issue. Cons. I had a cab and it seemed a bit top heavy being a smaller tractor on hills and divots. the front tires are small too. they tend to spin easy in the snow - with R4s.

A couple of differences compared to a 3720. Looks like it can be a manual transmission or a hydro. Looks like the engine has a turbo. Similar specs though.

Locale dealership wants us to look at a 5045E with 500 hours. Have to admit, it does have more of everything! (weight HP etc)

Now that is a machine!

3320 was a huge step up in the burbs for me. Now that I have acreage , it is the smallest I would want (and punches high enough that I’m happy)

But, if I had to step up it would be something like that!

Maybe overall cheaper also( comparing weight/hp) as these CUTs are overpriced imho

Anyone here have one?
I have a 5055e from 2009. I like it and pretty much free of problems. I'm in the south so I pulled the cold start sensor cable off when I started having starting problems instead of replacing the sensor. I have a backhoe for it and the loader will lift 3000#.

I'd guess the 385 Backhoe. How does it work for you? How long and difficult to take on-n-off?

Because of mainly summer and backhoe use, was thinking open station would be best.

The 447 hoe has been flawless. I've dug septic tanks, water lines, power cables and a lot of tree stumps. No failures. Only once did I wish it had a more power when I was ripping on a large tree stump. I eventually got it out.

I’m just about to trade a 2016 3039R HST for a new one. The dealer doesn’t care if I sell it before my new one is ready for delivery.
$29k with 950 hours, 385A backhoe, 18”HD bucket, H165 loader, 61”HD b let and bolt-on cutting edge & R4 tires.
