I tried forcing air in thru filler tube. Raised rear wheels and ran in forward and reverse. I then tried it on the ground and it will travel as it should for a short distance then stop. If I am on a down hill slope it rolls along as if I'm in neutral. Pushing pedal back and forth it will engage again for a short distance. The whining noise is only as it engages and not so much when traveling. Found 2 small leaks , 1 or 2 drops now and then but it has done that for a long time before this trouble started. Thanks I appreciate all the help.
You either still have entrained air in the system or your pump is faulty.
In your shoes, my last ditch effort would do the entire drain process again and this time fill very slowly.
If you’re certain of hydraulic fluid amount capacity, pour it in smoothly and re-mount your filters. The equivalent size tractor to yours of what we sell, takes 9 gallons. I am un familiar of what your 2610 takes.
Additional air was not going to do anything for you.
It is not a closed system such as a cars coolant system operating at relatively low pressures as opposed to a system operating at 2500# or so.
If you refill your tractor properly and there are no intake leaks and it is still doing what it’s doing, I’m afraid your pump is shot.
As to the leaks you report, are they indeed hydraulic oil leaks? Unless you have hydraulic connection compromised o rings, hydraulic leaks are of tremendous pressure and would usually squirt out in such fineness, you can barely see them but will easily cut into your skin causing a toxicity that needs tending to immediately.
Test those with a piece of cardboard.
The kind of leaks I’m talking about are on the intake side of the system that could keep causing entrained air.
