guess it depends on how much you use it. Dump truck will hold more, and be easier to move around, but it's another machine to maintain and insure. I'm just a homeowner, so the trailer made sense for me.

It's all on my 6 acre wooded lot, and a mix of stump grinding, moving down trees/brush with a grapple and dirt work with the bucket. Spent the last 2 days moving trees to a large slash/burn pile, and only maybe 30 minutes stump grinding.

@DonRybak as others have since mentioned, the ECU controls the RPM during regen to an extent, I'm usually above the RPM it needs to be, but if required, the ECU will bump the RPM up to the needed range during a regen.

the only way I know of to check the soot load within the DPF would be through the dealership diagnostic computer.

I don't believe anything has been checked (such as fuel pressures) other than what is available when hooked up to the diagnostic computer. I "think" only the DPF system has been looked at, not the engine for a soot issue.

Just contact the dealer, they put the service manual for my MT240 on a USB drive for me, no charge. You don't need it for the 50hr service, but it's a nice thing to have.

will do, I expect it to be there a few days past the 16th as they check to see if the replacement worked, as you have noticed, it really only does it on the first start of the day.

Since there has been no new data in this thread, my tractor will go in the 16th to have the relief valve replaced to see if that helps. Also checking on REGEN issues I've been having too, I get repeated regens between 3 and 15 hours.

thanks all, I did let it run a good 30 seconds, and I did it a couple times, I did not see any smoke, I had the spring/nuts completely loose, there was not pressure on the springs at all at that point. Maybe I'll do it again with a little pressure on the springs/plates.

I have the tools in a canvas bag on one side and surprisingly the chains in the other side don't rattle. I did put a strip of thin self stick foam on the underside of the lids to stop them from rattling, works well. I posted more details here: What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?
