Are you talking about the steering column valve? Is it a Parker valve? If so, those have a specific order of assembly with the notches in a specific position. Change one plate and you're out of luck. I hope you took a picture of the original. Otherwise, you'll need the manufacture's overhaul...

The builder may have broken a ring putting them in. Were the cylinders honed? In that photo, they look like crap. Oil in the exhaust can only come from a poor ring job.

What's the problem with your cable? Did the end just pull off or did the cable break? I'd be making my own before paying $750 for an assembly. You can buy cable stock and a handy farmer can make threaded ends from a grade-8 bolt.

No, it is not normal to have misaligned pulleys. Something may be bent, or a bearing is worn allowing a pulley to shift on its axis. It's also extremely important to keep the correct tension on belts.

My first guess would be a rusted-out muffler. The iron oxide that forms as well as the carbon can ignite and throw sparks. As already mentioned, running a test at night with a hot engine should show if there's any sparks generated. Fires don't start on their own.

Just like plowing, the tires that drop into the fresh cut ground on the next pass will tilt the tractor. Being capable of leveling the tiller when this happens keeps the cut/depth equal and covers the tracts. I'm sorry you've never used or understood TnT. :cry:

That's the beauty of having TnT hydraulics on the 3Ph. It doesn't matter how wide the tiller is--You can offset each pass to fully cover tractor tracks. The TnT allows you to raise (or drop) one side to compensate for "sink". It doesn't matter whether you're going up one side and down the other...

All my flat face couplers have a notch on the release ring. Is that what you're talking about? It needs to line up with the pin/ball to release the coupler. The release ring will rotate so you can lock a coupler together if necessary.

You can order concrete with the color already in it. I think there's 20-30 colors available. As far as staining concrete, you have to seal it after staining. And the stain pretty much stays near the surface so chipping or heavy traffic will wear it off. They make special sealers too.
