Congrats on the new LS. Also a common thing we new tractor owners do is do all too often. It's a tractor, not a skidsteer, be careful on not put too much force on the front end loader when trying to break ground etc. A cutting edge is much preferred, if you need to cut into sod or hard packed...

I usually deep clean my tractor twice a year, spring and fall. Before mowing seasons and after mowing season. And the only wax I use is Honda Polish that I use on all my motorcycles, it is a spray on and wipe quick detailer and helps with UV fading etc.

Try and get some ACF-50 from Amazon and spray on your surfaces you want protected. From the aerospace industry to protect planes.......good stuff.

If I were you I'd opt for the same sized T474 with the Kukje engine. Absolutely a jewel of an engine and simplistic. IDI with mechanical fuel pump, no ECU on it other than the one running the exhaust valve for when a regen is requested (I'm at 478h without a regen to date).

I have a 2020 Suzuki KQ750 I bought after my 2009 KQ500 got squashed by a tree from high wind event. I haven't put many miles nor hours on it since, but it's a nice tool to have during spring cleanup of the yard and other chores needed. I still have less than 330 miles on it I think.

Just dig out any wads of grass with a screw driver and use a leafblower to get it as best you can. Then just spray one of these lanolin based rust preventives straight on the clean metal.

I have a Vulcan 215 MIG from HF, it can use argon/co2 or just plan argon for cover gas and runs on 115/240v. I'm a newb, so I use wire with flux core still. Works pretty good for what I need.

I drive through 18'' of snow with my small TYM T474 with no issues and my 68'' MK Martin pull type blower. I added some magnetic inside mirrors to help keep track of the turret instead of adding electronic devices. I work in IT and has become more simplistic the older I get.

We got 9-10'' in Western MT, I need to buy another Ducati now I feel like if i want snow :ROFLMAO: because it has only snowed since I purchased one.

You're using it wrong then. You can't be lazy, you've gotta stay on top of removing snow. It's not for breaking new ground or if you deal with drifts. Each piece of equipment has it's place. Here i am using the piss out of mine.

The 5835r is a TYM legacy carryover from Branson, and almost a tad bigger. It will outspec the 494 in lifting capacities, but only comes with ROPS if cab was in the horizon for you.

I think the T474 is a very reliable tractor, you just need to do your daily preflight list, check fluids and bolts not coming lose (Important in first 50h of ownership). I have 453h on mine since 2020 and I love it. I also towed it with my halfton until I got another 20 year old truck but a 2500...

On the exhaust manifold, there is a little square plug you can unbolt if tractor refuses to start due to plugged filter. This is a help to diagnose if the filter is plugged. Then you can accidentally "drop" the filter 😬

Friday we had -37F, we lost water for a day but rectified that problem quickly. Even this morning it was -30F, it beat last years cold of -33F. I'm working on getting a pan heater for my HST so the fluids are little warmer each time I use the block heater.

This is WHY I also have a front blade on my FEL for early season and parking lot use. I don't use the blower until I have a certified clean surface of snow and ice.

The TYM T2515 lifts 2200 at the pins and is the largest frame tractor in 25< class.

Bought a large set of combination metric wrenches from HF so I have an easier time checking frame and loader bolts on the tractor every 25h or so.

If you're a big fella, I'd recommend the T494/574 or the 5520 for ya if your $$$ can stretch to that size? It will be worth it and no regrets to have proper size accomodation. For me the T474 is fine as I'm only 5'7''.

For forested areas my T474 is pretty nice, last weekend I was into the woods with my cab tractor and forestry winch. But you'll have to determine yourself how big you want to go? I'd say a Legacy model 4820 would be a nice choice.

I was too far invested getting things together, I just had the fuel tank left when I saw it butted up against it. I've had people later tell me even after the dealer installed this kit, the bolts touched the fuel tank and they had to take it off and grind the bolts to correct the problem.

On the engine you can use NAPA FIL 1626/Wix 51626 oil filters.

Absolute BS, off road dyed diesel is the same ultra low sulfur as on road diesel. I have 420h with the same engine you've got minus the turbo, no issues. ULSD has been a standard since 2007 as a matter of fact.

I think I did, I bought a tractor and it didn't give me more than 4-5 inches of snow max for each storm ever since. That's liveable.

I had an 1987 Subaru GL10 station wagon 5 speed with a Hi-Low transfer case. That thing had 275k miles on it, topped out at 75Mph but was an absolutely mountain goat. I had it as a winter beater.
