Buy an existing JD 2020 or wait for newer?

Good idea! Buy your tractor in the lower 48, and then take it with you to AK. You will have a MUCH WIDER selection of used tractors in the lower 48, and at much better prices.

    Desperately need to fix driveway

Mike describes how to "angle" a box blade. IMPOSSIBLE! Common box blades cannot be angled! Common box blades can ONLY be tilted! For that reason, a rear scrape blade is by far the better tool for driveway maintenance. Rear scrape blades can be both angled and tilted!

Buy an existing JD 2020 or wait for newer?

DO NOT DO IT! Buying a tractor, and THEN looking for a loader is a major mistake! Buy a tractor WITH a loader already attached! Chains will work for snow, but for AK, buy a 4 wheel drive tractor if at all possible!

John Deere 770 vs Ford 1715

I know nothing about the JD, but my Ford 1920 is the bigger brother to the 1715, and is a wonderful small tractor. I will never sell the 1920, though I do have a much larger/newer Kubota also.

    Advise on Gravely snow blower

Good advice! radios 1 is giving BAD advice. I own a Gravely 12HP commercial model The Gravelys are superb machines, and highly prized. The $1250 initial listing price seems like a good idea. It may take a while, but certainly somebody is looking for one of these!

I see my credit score change a few points up or down occasionally, but always well above 800. I have 3 credit cards, and play the cash back game. Never pay any interest! At our age..... who gives a rip what their credit score is anyway?

This is such an obvious safety issue! Everyone should already know this, if they just use common sense!

    Loader value (BL 150)

The "British style fitting" that your hydraulics guy mentioned is likely a Dowty designed fitting. Dowty was a British manufacturer of aircraft parts/fittings/etc., and was purchased by TI group in 1992.

If you have electric power available, a Battery Minder, or Battery Tender is the better idea to keep your battery charged.
  163. F

Battery Minder presently on sale - $27.51

Those little batteries are almost all cheap junk. A Battery Minder, or Battery Tender does usually keep them alive for 4+ years.
  164. F

Battery Minder presently on sale - $27.51

Yes, you can buy the Battery Minder on Amazon with free shipping. I buy EVERYTHING on Amazon with free shipping. Who needs a Battery Minder immediately? I just put items on my Amazon list, and wait until the list totals $25+, for free shipping. I buy many items on E-Bay also, with free shipping.

Homemade, prefab, concrete and pine post

Morton Buildings (they build pole barns extensively in your area) used only 2 - 40 lb. bags of dry Sackrete in the bottom of each hole, for my 36' x 48' building, built East of you, 37 years ago. The building is still plumb and level.

Value of a Kubota down the road

I have a friend who owned construction equipment all his life. He owned two concrete plants, and much equipment. He too told me I "STOLE it". Bought it from a small time home builder who became afflicted with Parkinson's disease, and could no longer use it. I did not believe my friend when he...

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

That is my theory only.....I have no direct knowledge of the situation, but US-Canada trade is apparently not anywhere near pre Covid levels.

Value of a Kubota down the road

You can apparently get more that you paid when you bought used also. There is a 2006 Kubota L48TLB with 452 hours, listed for sale on Machinery Trader for $42,900. I bought my 2006 L48TLB exactly 24 months ago, for $32K Mine has 200 fewer hours, better paint condition (pictures), hydraulic...

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

Kent, Rona, and Home Hardware are all in Canada lumber/hardware retail businesses. Perhaps the reason they have so much lumber in stock, is because Canadian mills are not shipping to the USA due to Covid regulations.

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

My dad had that old blue Homelite XL10, and it ran for 50 years. I sold it on E-Bay, advertised as "not running", for $75 to a woman who said her husband was delighted, and could fix it. Kinda heavy at 12 pounds, but a fantastic saw over the years.

Please tell me this isn't what I think it is

"the other two tractors had the lugs installed as to what I would expect". (1) Two out of three are correct? (2) Two out of three are wrong? I will go with the first option!

Please tell me this isn't what I think it is

No...not the assembly line! At the distribution point, or the dealer shop.....both in the USA! Pathetic!

    MTL Grapple Review

I understand your new member "axe to grind" comment, but MTL (Cliff) has a whole host of customer complaints. Based on their customer complaint history I would certainly not buy anything from them. You were obviously a lucky customer.

Battery Minder presently on sale - $27.51

I think that the reason you can't find them there is that older model is no longer in the supply chain.

    MTL Grapple Review

Because I have a Kubota L48TLB grapple, weight was not a significant factor for me. My Mid-State Attachments grapple weighs 500#, but also has a fully covered steel back plate, which keeps the branches away from my tractor.

    7' or 8' Angle Blade

I have suggested that blade to many, but you are the very first to have expressed serious interest. I do not understand why others have not followed through. 7' or 8' Angle Blade

I really do not think EA will charge a lot extra for shipping, unless you are in Alaska or Canada. I have two other blades (KK & TSC) and they are both for sale. Because it is SO adjustable in all dimensions, the EA Deluxe Scrape Blade is the cats axx! I have been using a rear blade for 50+...

    7' or 8' Angle Blade

Take a look at the EA Deluxe Scrape Blade (angle). It has the best angle/offset design of any. I was going to buy a 7' blade, but because of the unique EA angle/offset design I found I could use their 6' blade instead, and still get great angled coverage. In my opinion, the EA rear blade is the...

Sorry, but I lack the technical expertise (80) to send pictures on TBN (I actually can do E-Bay pix though).
