An OEM rattle can of JD primer and JD Green has never let me down. Mind you, my tractor(s) live inside and Tasmania has some brutal UV rays during Late Spring, Summer & early Autumn. I can't speak for the other 'colour' tractor OEMs.

Sorry, late to the party... I use the gripple system. It holds wonderfully and, if required to tighten, putting a wire strainer on either side of the 'gripple' will tighten things up again. Gripples are also great for wire strand repairs.

Yep. It happens every now & then... as the story says, 'worst in decades'.

As it's a HST; ensure that the range lever is exactly in the Neutral position. ('handbrake' on/engaged) On my 4105, sometimes the lever will 'look' like it's in Neutral but a slight movement/adjustment will pop it into the actual position.

Exactly... a tiller, after slashing the area, will get the job done right. A FEL isn't designed to dig.

I use a landscape rake (wheel adjusted) for excess hay removal as it's usually mixed with manure that the horses have compacted. I can then chain harrow it to spread it out more, then use my lawn tractor to chop/mulch. You'll find that a landscape rake will also come in handy for smoothing out...

Maybe... but we (Australia) have certified Jackaroo/Jilleroo schools (TAFE) to teach stockwork, including riding. Demand is out there. Roping (lariat) isn't a 'thing' here... but skill with a stockwhip is a plus.

Yep. And it works for both types, pin or collar, especially when the implement is raised so that the shaft is perpendicular/level with the PTO. Raising the implement allows you to rotate the shaft easily to line up with the splines.

From what I've been reading on TBN, and the overall availability of tractors, either on the 'lot' or from the factory, I reckon that you would get close to what you payed for it.

The shield should 'flip up' with some tension/tightness on the two pivot-bolts so that when you move it up it stays up. Spray it with some lanolin-based product and, if it still won't move, then loosen it/them a tiny bit.

There could be a partial blockage at the bottom of the waste water pipe where it meets the 'main' pipe. Due to the drop from the second floor, enough flushed water could be causing a slight suction (enough to claim 1/4 of the 'bowl' level) until the vacuum effect evens out.

Exactly. Each tractor has a 'sweet spot' when it comes to operating RPM... run it lower than that and the machine struggles, run it higher and you're just wasting fuel. (Note: this is different to PTO operating RPM) My JD 4105 'likes it' at a bit over 2100 and I can work all day at that RPM...

Not necessarily... it all depends on what you want/need the implement to do. If all you really want to do with a bucket is scoop up stuff (dirt, gravel, compost, etc...) then a regular bucket is all you'll ever need. Unlike our North American friends a "Grapple" for a tractor FEL isn't readily...

It will be a looooooooong time before electric tractors are a viable thing. Most of what we're hearing is 'industry hype', trying to drum up interest.

My JD Dealership does. They have several mobile servicing utes and treat all sizes of JD tractors equally. Mind you, if it's planting/harvesting season your SCUT/CUT may get a lower 'priority'... but they will get to you. I believe that the other colour tractor dealerships also run servicing...

I use regular leather 'rigger' gloves for practically everything around the property... one dedicated 'general use' pair and one pair for wood handling. They last about a year each for the tasks. As for loading the wood-heater, I employ a pair of welding gauntlets.

Theoretically it should work... bamboo is a grass (thick, I know) and you're thinking of something like a robust bladed brush cutter.

So, I take it that my very reliable JD 4105 with it's YANMAR 1.5L 3-cyl diesel (41hp) doesn't count. JD & YANMAR have had a fairly long association.

Exactly. Either plough, disk or till the area and then using the bucket with FEL (as it is designed to do) to scoop & deposit the earth as you see fit. That's how I prepared the ground for the concrete pour for my 5-bay shed... tilled then scooped. Easy-peasy and a pleasurable evolution.
