Our milk was also delivered to thehouse - hopefully after the Ice Man delivered our block of ice for the Ice Box. Rant on shipping

One 'Atta-Boy' for BatteryCables! I resent companies claiming Shipped as soon a they get an order. Obviously, they are trying to get paid as soon as they can and that's when they shipped the order, but it's just not right to claim Shipped days before an order is actually shipped.

Parents with dementia, how dealing with that has gone.

So very true! I've smoked for 70+ years and I am very sure it'll kill me in the end. (On the offensive side however, at 84 I'm still very active maintaining 15 acres of pine trees, 2 acres of 'lawn', and all home & vehicle maintenance tasks.) Most likely if I did avoid smoking and nicotine...

Anyone else have an unusually large number of hummingbirds this year?

    Medicare Plan G

Your comments about Humana is scaring me! I've had Humana for about 6 years now with no regrets - so far, and that's after having a previous heart attack. Depending on which state and which county you live in determines the benefits and costs as well as which specific plan you elect. I 'had' a...

    Blueberries

Absolutely. Don't let it make berries the first year... or more.

Recommendations for deck paint for porch

I used Behr Porch paint w/anti-slip ingredient. Clean w/power spray, waited 1 week and rolled one coat. Looks like new still after 3 years. Cost was $38/gallon and covers 450 sqft. I recommend that.

    Reliable Hose?

I also own about 400' of that construction grade red rubber hose. Been using that for the last 10 years. I love it! Lasts forever and is difficult to make it kink. On the other hand, wife hates it. She bought herself 100' of that cheap-ass flat hose junk to use for her flower beds because "it...

Can a Zero Turn mow high weeds in a bumpy pasture?

I'm using a Kubota Z2412 (26hp Kawasaki engine) with a mulching kit. I have one area with the same tall weeds situation, i.e. it gets mowed about twice per year. I raise the ZTR deck to about 4" and mow rather slowiy. Then I go back a remow it to about 2.5". On the other hand, I'm totally...

    climbing saw

I received a MS194T for my birtday. List price was $440 + TTL. I've learned that I wouldn't give a wooden nickle for another one. It takes a gorilla arm to crank it, and it cuts no better than my Husqvarna 435T pruning saw that cost ~$300. From what I read, Echo seems to be the way to go.

Lawn-Boy Where to find the serial number.

Back in the day... when gas powered rotary mowers were the new thing I bought a brand new Lawn Boy. That was supposed to be the Cadillac of mowers. I think I paid something like $300 for it, and that was back in the early '60's. Took it home and tried to crank it. Boom! I jerked the cord right...

    I hate to see this...

Sorry H/D... this sounds like "My dog's bigger than your dog" :-) I was driving @ 12, unrestricted driver's license @ 14, holding down a after-school job @ 13 and owned my own car @ 15, bought myself with my $.85/hr job. Yeah, those were back in the years, *50's, when it was legal. To your...

    Cataracts and other visual concerns!

Beware - all is not gold. There's a chance that you may or may not have corrected 20/20 nearsight and farsight vision even after the surgery. Some people do, so don't. And there will surely be a little discomfort in night driving, but with tinted yellow thow-away glasses, that's easily overcome...

    Need advice on mowing slopes

The Club Cadet Pro Z with dual rear wheels would easily handle your slopes. BUT - they're pricey. Something like $22K... I know my current Kubota Z2412 will NOT handle that kind of slope; I have a quarter acre of the same and have made many attempts without success. In addition to flipping over...

    Recommend A Pressure Washer?

Simpson brand is the best brand out there. A 3100psi gas powered unit for well under $500 is common. They come with hose and gun. Sold by most big box stores like Home Depot with free delivery.

    Tax Question

I had a similar situation this year as well. I failed to claim ~$1500 of tax I had paid on some income. I had filed electronically so there was no retrieval. Immediately I filed an Amended Return. IRS site stated that it would be up to 20 WEEKS before it would be reviewed. :-(

    Cataracts and other visual concerns!

I had both lense replacements done on both eyes about 6 years ago. Between Medicare and Humana, the cost was 100% covered. BTW, I had then and still have after lense replacements 20/20 vision.

Stihl or Echo top handle saw?

Amen!!! I received a new Stihl MS194T saw for my birthday. Although it's a small fairly lightweight saw made for pruning and other light duty cutting, it's a killer to crank. The pull cord goes up about halfway up and stops at the compression stoke level. To crank that POS you just about have...

    Favorite diesel can?

Good suggestion, i.e. 3 gallon size VP Racing Fuel container. I went to snap up a couple of those BUT - the extra 'tax' of $9 for a hose plus another $5 for a hose bender, killed my interest. Perhaps you can recommend a place other than Amazon to buy them at a better price?
