    Building a shed

Started building a shed couple months ago. Only work on it on weekends and have been sidetracked away from it the last few. Something for horses or cows to get under. Looking online I've noticed them called loafing sheds. Never heard that term before. Doing it by myself with the help of the...

    Snake in the bush

Went to turn water faucet on to water tomatoes and okra. It was dark out and I spotted this fella. Around here we call pretty much any snake that isn't poisonous a chicken snake. He was on the faucet slithering onto a shrub.

    Question for gardeners

What is your preferred method of fire ant control in the vegetable garden? This year I built a few raised beds and debating on putting fire ant bait in the beds or mixing pyrethrin in a sprayer and spraying them. Need to do something soon.

    Woohoo I fixed the dryer

The other evening the wife needed to dry some clothes but the dryer wouldn't cooperate. Wouldn't start. No noise, nothing. I'm not the most gifted mechanically speaking but decided to give it a whirl. Took the iPad in laundry room and started googling. Several hours and YouTube videos later I...

    Anyone ever shot a buzzard?

Here's a pic my wife took a couple days ago. They were across the pasture by her mom's house. When she drove down there they flew up by our house. Waited for her to come back then returned. She said they were also sitting on the rolls of hay I put out.

Some of y'all were posting about fuel tanks. Here's one we made from a 60 gallon air compressor tank. It has skid plates so it can be picked up with skid steer and loaded in truck. Also has quick coupler so we can shoot some air pressure in it to push the diesel out. Works pretty good.

Water well: anyone have one similar?

My father in law gave my wife and her sister a couple acres some years back for their own homestead. We trenched across the pasture (maybe 200 yards) to supply our homes with water. So there are three households on this well. In the summer of 2000 the pump went out. He was the kind of fella that...
