1 tractor rest of forever -- what brand?

This whole thread is a very interesting read. I am like the one who posted about his JD 790 and that he owns 2 of them, unless the one he loaned out gets squatters rights! I own a JD 990 with a 300CX FEL and an 8B BH. Of course this tractor is 100% Yanmar. The 8B BH is 100% US made and the...

    TMG chipper

I would agree and say that is good unless the state you live in does not allow you to burn like the one I live in. Then either renting or buying a chipper for your needs becomes a reality or hiring it out which can get pretty expensive.

Need help with purchase of weight distribution hitch

Yes it does have sway control built into the hitch. From the link I gave: "Combines weight distribution and sway control in a single unit without additional hardware." Also in video reviews they talk about the sway control and how good it is.

What about the Husky Center Line TS https://www.huskytow.com/husky-towing-center-line-ts I have been looking at that WDH for some time and from all I have watched it seems to be a very good WDH.

How big of a rock/boulder can a 60 HP tractor push on relatively flat dirt?

I grew up in central NH, Sanbornton, exit 22 on 93. We had rocks like you have. I have lived in northern NJ for almost the past 40 years. I have it as bad and probably worse than you do regarding rocks. I have them in the sizes you do in galore! My 990 with the Artillian forks will lift...

Today, would you buy an EV vehicle.

I am not on board with buying an EV in fact I just recently bought a new F150 with a 3.5L Ecoboost. I love the truck. I don't like the fact that gasoline has gone to over ~$4.70/gal but our present hands are tied. Over 1.5 years ago we were energy independent as a nation and now we are back...

Today, would you buy an EV vehicle.

I am still waiting on the history to prove that our earth is 500k years old never mind 500 million years! We can't prove in any way and especially in a scientific way that humans have existed 1/10th of a million years! Again no scientific proof what so ever.

Today, would you buy an EV vehicle.

Your Tesla Model 3 sounds good and I am glad you like it. But don't say you will never buy an ICE again unless you mean a car only, because I don't yet know of too many battery powered tractors that are available. I am sure they will come at some point with all the drive to stop the use of...

How many shims did you use? What was the pressure before you added the shims and what is the pressure now?

    JD790 vs Kubota B3350

I fully agree with you. They are like the tractors my father had which you find most of them still being used today. They are bullet proof and easy to work on and straight forward. When you add the Yanmar diesel you really get a good thing. My 990 I will keep until I can no longer use it...
  13. R

    JD790 vs Kubota B3350

How long have you been using it with the shim pack? I have thought about doing that with my 990 but I am hesitant not wanting anything to break since it increases the pressure for the whole system.

Who actually makes the tractor and whose engine and transmission does it carry?

This is the same for the JD 790 and 990 and the 3005 and 4005 which were almost the same tractors 790/3005 and 990/4005. Apart from changes between the models in fuel pumps, Alternator output, and even engine displacement etc, they were all Yanmar through and through. I own a 990 late model...

    JD790 vs Kubota B3350

I owne a JD 990 which is the big brother to the 790. They are all Yanmar which is a very good tractor. They are bullet proof, simple to work on. Yes they are a collar shift transmission, no HST or synchro type. Collar shift is what I grew up on. If there would be anything I would like to...

I live in NJ in a wooded area with 2.3 acres. I grew up on a dirt road in NH back in the 60's on a gentleman's farm. 3pt log splitter

Its the corn syrup in the gas. Put a shut off on the gas if you do not already have one and when you are done running the small engine turn the gas off and let it run until it dies from no fuel. This will save your carburetor and allow your unit to start up when you go to use it again.

John Deere 3320 w, 300CX loader - hydraulic requirements for grapple
