Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

I plan to! For everyone else, when the lawsuit is settled I can divulge more details, but as someone cautioned, if I talk to much here it could get requested by the neighbors lawyers and it might give away a few things. I am finding, for good and bad, that the law works slowly and so I won't...

Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

Yeah, that is one of teh things that really pissed us off. If they talked to us we would have tried to work with them. One neighbor is directly to my north, and the other is the next house over, so another couple hundred feet away.

Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

We don't pile it indefinitely, we give it away and spread and we put out lots of fly traps to help keep the fly populations down. Flies aren't good for anyone - people or horses.

Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

LOL, that would be hilarious! There used to be a guy who picked up for compost for free. And the previous owner was able to take advantage of that for a while. We have looked, but couldn't find anyone taking the manure for compost. We get a fair number of people who have large food plots that...

Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

RTF and GAAMP only cover commercial farms. So we were covered and now we aren't - in the last year. So its kind of a weird gray area. We are zoned for farming and our proptery has been grandfathered into allow for horse boarding. We can legally keep a manure pile on site. We do spread when we...

Neighbors Sue for Horse Manure Pile Smell

Hello. We are, unfortunately, in that gray zone where farmland and residential homes are kind of intermingled so a couple of our neighbors are people who have like 5 or so acres around their house, but are basitically just large residential plots. We have just over 14 acres and had been a horse...

LS Tractor - Drives Slowly - Bad Hydrostat?

Thank you everyone! All I had to do was tighten the nuts on the hiem joints. They are not the easiest to get to and I did take the "cruise control" linkage out to help with access. The nuts and the ball are both 12mm. Just so people who have the same issue can find this easier. When looking...

LS Tractor - Drives Slowly - Bad Hydrostat?

I have. It seems like its a pretty solid rod to a lever on a rod that goes into the hydrostat casing. I had speculated that maybe the rod loosened up internally and isn't moving the squash plate properly.

LS Tractor - Drives Slowly - Bad Hydrostat?

Hello, So I have 2013 G3038H tractor with about 1050hrs on it, and the tractor moves so slowly now - in all gears (high, medium and low). Fluid is not very old, and still looks clean. I changed the filter recently and cut it open to see if there was any metal debris in it - but it was clean...

But when it was time to do it, the stretch was no longer available. Looking online I could only find them for about $1000 when shipping was...

    54" Ryobi Zero Turn

Yeah, I was noticing some issues on hills, but I chalked it up to the grass being wet. I don't have to many hills, so haven't tested that to much. I have been moving away from gas when I can.

Using a Tarp To Replace Cover on ShelterLogic Shed for horses

I have thought of that. It is quite a bit more expensive, and I have heard of horror stories if you don't have it well secured. But if secured well, I think it would last a long time and be a good option. I haven't priced one out compared to building a wood shelter.

    54" Ryobi Zero Turn

I was looking to get a new mower and I happened upon the new electric zero turns. Most of them were to small for what I needed but Ryobi came out with the 54" model and it can cut 3-4 acres. I was thinking this might not be enough if I had particularly long or wet grass but I figured, even if I...

Using a Tarp To Replace Cover on ShelterLogic Shed for horses

Yeah, I think in general they do well. I had one shelter that lasted 5-6 years even with the horses kick holes in the side. The larger one is just more susceptible to the wind I think. Glad to hear its working well for you.

Using a Tarp To Replace Cover on ShelterLogic Shed for horses

Yeah, I had one ShelterLogic shed just fall apart at the seams. Literally. The seams just started to split and I couldn't send it back for warranty because I had bought it and let it sit for like 1-2 years in the box before putting it up.... Hopefully this works well enough. If not I will tear...

Using a Tarp To Replace Cover on ShelterLogic Shed for horses

Thanks! Yeah, I think if a couple of the horses didn't kick through the sides or chew on the cover it would have lasted a lot longer. That allowed the wind to just tear them up over time. I think the shelterlogic are a good value. I am sure there are more durable shelters, but they would...

Battery based electric vehicles of today and tomorrow.

I am not knocking Musk, I think its part of what makes Tesla successful is he create a huge buzz. Just don't trust everything they say when it comes to the numbers. Musk is an amazing guy doing Tesla, SpaceX, and the tunnel stuff. I am excited for the Tesla Semi that is coming soon because I...

    Zero turn recommendations.

I was previously using a 46" Ariens riding mower and it took more than an hour to cut my yard. With the Ryobi it took about 30min and this was very thick wet grass and had 40% battery left when I was done. Probably cut about 2 acres.

LS/New Holland Steering Issue - Won't Turn Right - With Resolution

A few weeks ago I noticed my tractor would have this dead spot when turning right. It wasn't bad at first and I would barely notice but it got progressively worse. It got bad enough that it wouldn't turn right at all, but if I turned left then turned right immediately after the wheels moved...

We try and keep the manure pile as condensed as possible, so its just a single hill thing. There is certainly a risk of rolling over and it might be hard to tell from the video but there pretty much is just a straight shot up the pile to push it back. What may not be clear is that when the...
