My Zero turn is quite old, it’s also quite loud, I only cut with hearing protection, not sure I’d hear an alarm if it had one. Are these newer machines quiet enough that you don’t wear hearing protection, or is the alarm if it works very loud?

I made the mistake of planting two Bradfords at the entrance to my properties driveway. Looked great for many years, then one split in half, looked so bad I removed both. I replaced them with Aristocrat pears, similar look less susceptible to the splits.

Neighbor offered a red oak that came down during a storm, he had it cut into 12’-14’ logs. Three totes split so far, and I don’t think I’ve even split 1/3 of what I brought home. He said there’s another one on the ground in another location if I want it. I’m going to need more totes!

Bought this today. Chased down a p0171 code on the wife’s 05 Accord, intake boot was torn causing a vacuum leak and a lean condition. Cost about $50 and it was actually in stock locally. Great car, rarely gives us any problems.

Check the basics, air filter, fuel filter/s, tank screen, fuel condition, lift pump if it has one.

Don’t forget to be careful with welding galvanized metals

I bought the same table a while back, I put a 1/4” metal top on it and find it very useful. I may add a vise also, nice little portable welding/working cart.

Does that model use an electric lift pump? If, so it’s worth check its functionality. Sounds fuel related.

I’m all about having a beater For daily running around too. My 1999Diesel E300 has 287k miles, known as “Old Smokey” I joke that it’s just getting broken in. I’ve driven several cars up to the point of scrapping them.

Did the problem present itself after the fuel filter change? Sounds like it could be a fuel/air issue.

You’re going to have to start testing things, battery, cables, starter. Any safety devices, PTO, seat, clutch, etc.

The problem is, I sometimes don’t realize I’m still in 4x4, the light is an added reminder.

I got around to installing a sensor and light to indicate I’m in 4x4 on my L 3901, need to print a 4x4 label for next to the light.

As others have said, I think the mower’s suspension would be the key, we have a Great Dane 72” zero turn, it beats the heck out of me on uneven ground. It’s a great machine other than the ride, I’ve considered an air ride seat.

Finally got all the parts needed for adding a filter, temperature and pressure gauges to the mini ex’s hydraulic system. Two hoses and fittings was $180 to have made up by Parker 🤢🤮. I’m happy with the results and piece of mind.

I’ve shared this before, with back issues I really appreciate the “wing/table” I added to my splitter. I lower splitter to the ground and load it up and raise to nice workable level, tote placement helps too. Filled a couple more totes today.

We had a 1984 300D that had 340k miles on it when we got rid of it. We replaced it with a 1999 E300, 6cylinder turbo diesel that we bought used w/116k miles. I still drive it, now has 280k, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

Pay attention to the pumps, if you want to run some of the powered attachments a triple pump seems to be the way to go, the rippa brand as others pointed out look pretty good.

This is my second year of using covered totes. I’m a fan of them, I need to pick up a few more and I should be set. I split with a PTO tractor driven splitter, with forks on the front end loader. I’ve really cut down a lot of the extra handling and stacking I used to do.

No, it’s never fallen out, found during routine maintenance check. It’s very easy to access, no cover, just look up from underneath/rear of machine. Ring guard is as pictured, partially covered.

Preventative maintenance, this bolt continues to get loose, I tightened it, it came loose, I blue loctited it, it came loose, today, it got red loctite. This is the drive motor(slew)that rotates the housing.

It does sound like your clutch, I’m not familiar with your tractor but maybe you can check runout and adjust?

How about checking the valves/setting the clearance? Making sure the low cylinders valves are fully closing?

I’m not familiar with your tractor, but if it has multi ranges (s-m-h) make sure it’s not in between ranges. Mine has neutral I between the ranges, it will act as you describe yours if I dong get it properly into selected range.

Not sure about the transmission, I think I’d check the thermostat and make sure the water pump and belt are good. Radiator fan is worth a check too.

That’s a tool on my radar, I’ve never used one but definitely see its usefulness. I cut most of my metal with a cutoff wheel or occasionally the plasma cutter.

The back two supports of my ROPS are mounted to the rear cover, or I’d probably do the same. I reversed polarity of the added fan, so both it and the oil cooler fan pull in. I ran it this morning for an hour and hyd. Oil was 143deg.F, but ambient temperature is 85, yesterday was 95.

Mine’s the same, in my case it’s a rock, dirt or stick, I’ve learned to reverse that track to try to eject the debris. Make sure you tracks are tight or you could throw one when this happens. Mine doesn’t like gravel turns at all.

I actually did this for my first building 24’x40’ pole barn/garage. I had a “kit” that had a clear section that went on each end of a garden hose. It worked ok for me.

I’d say 40’ long building, so if transit is center of area to level I’d shoot out to 30’ or so.

Mine came with an exhaust heat cover/blanket, but I really don’t understand why no exhaust extension.

My fan setup is factory pulling then auxiliary one I added pushing out, lots of heat blowing out. Just curious if others with two fans run them as I have. I should probably get a thermometer and try some real world testing.

On my Branson 3510, the shutoff solenoid’s rubber boot was shot. It limited the movement of the shutoff solenoid, the plunger was extending too far. I used a couple of zip ties to limit the extension after researching and finding the cost of a new solenoid $$$.

If applicable, remove the carb. Float bowl and look for debris. Possibly a jet or port clogged up. Ethanol fuel left in these small engines tend to gum things up. I’ve gone to non ethanol fuel for my small engines that don’t get used regularly.

I agree, I now have a dedicated grinder shelf for everything grinding related. How about zip tied to the cord for the arbor nut? Yes you cut the zip tie when you need it but if you’re like me have a large zip tie collection.

I recently disconnected my log splitter from my tractor but forgot about the pump disconnect (pto driven) luckily I was looking at the splitter as I started to pull away. That could have cost me a couple of hydraulic lines. Mike

When I added my clean out tee I put it near center of the sink run. I found out like AWSubie that I had to run both directions, to the sink and to the septic stack. I put a bucket under the clean out, not a real pleasant job, but better than paying someone else to do it. Mike
