Backup Camera to replace mirrors on cabbed tractor

I push mine forward so they are about even with pillars on each side and then angle the mirrors from there. Since I won’t be driving between anything as tight as the corners of the glass, they tend to stay there. Occasionally in heavily wooded areas they might catch a branch but not nearly...

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

I’m not too worried. I can fix it if needed but I’d use better steel. But MF would be wise to fix this before I feel the need to escalate it.

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

I can fix it if the won’t warranty it. But the fact that this is the weak link is sort of nuts. Both failed. Same place. The welds don’t look like they burned through.

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

My buddies much smaller MF tractor uses round tube, which is much stronger looking that this square tubing that is mitered and welded. It’s definitely not a great design. Look up any MF 1835 with a loader and you can see them pretty clearly. The welds weren’t all the way through, as you can...

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

Does anyone have an installation manual that shows how these are installed? I’m going to take them loose but would like to take a look at what’s required if I can, before I start? Can you order these things online? I might like to have a second set to improve and reinforce.

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

I think that if they are not covered, then they are going to get an upgrade with gussets. Even if they are covered, I might take the new ones off and do the same. My buddies 1726e which is considerably smaller has much more stout supports from the frame than these.

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

We are building a new house and the contractor had just removed the dumpster on Friday. So you can see where I was going to build up that area. My buddy with his 1726e MF kept it moving all day but having the bigger tractor down was no bueno.

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

It appears it must have been happening slowly. There is surface rust on the break at the front but the weight of the fully loaded bucket caused it to give way as I raised it up to dump it. It tore through the rest of the bracket at that point. I would think these areas need gussets to...

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

Was moving dirt today when all of the sudden my loader started going down all by itself. This was crazy looking. You can see in the photos that the loader sub frame gave way on both sides. It appears to be either bad welds or cheap metal. Either way, it’s nuts that it would do this with...

    Starlink

I expect it will work fine for a couple of devices. The wireless won’t cover a larger house and I need to have seamless coverage, so I bypass the router and go with a much stronger home network. I’ve done mostly Merakis but a couple of erro networks on the smaller places.
  16. D

    Starlink

It hasn’t been noticeable. Under a second.
  17. D

    Starlink

Sounds like you didn’t need much. If you have a larger home network the starlink router might not be the best option. With a newer smart home, you need more granular control. You are correct in that initial setup is super simple.

    Starlink

I’ve had good success putting the SLs in bypass mode and using Meraki MX firewalls handling the DHCP. I let the Meraki MX do DHCP for the regular network and then also do a separate DHCP server on the site to site VPN side. I use their APs to get the smooth handoff between APs throughout the...

    1835 M Hydraulic issues?

I have an 1835M with cab. I have been using it for a year and half and have not had any issues like that. I’ve moved thousands of full buckets of dirt from huge mounds left over from digging a pond with an excavator. I’ve had 20-30 tri-axle dump trucks bring in material and never had a...

    MF 1660 grapple questions

I also run an 1835M with the EA 55 grapple. It works pretty darn well. I wanted to maximize the amount I could pick up with it so I didn’t see the need to go any bigger. The tractor is well matched to it. I also use the MF factory diverted. The true third function would make it smoother to...

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

Success! I felt like the clamps might have to much play so I put a bolt and nut in there between the gear and the front of the housing. Then I cranked on the gear puller as hard as I could and then tapped the gear with a 3 pound hammer a few times. I found when I did that it must have moved a...

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

Not a bad idea. I’m going to block the gear from the front side to see if the clamps have too much play. The gears are already meshed so I don’t want to pull against the output gear. If I still can‘t get it, I guess the next best option would be to take it to a local machine shop and see what...

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

I wish! The problem is the small drive gear behind it is engaged with this gear. This has to come out to replace the other bearings. I've already bought about 300 worth of bearing, seals, pulleys ,etc. The entire gearbox is 1700 for a new one. I'd much rather fix this one if I can do it...

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

While not the factory puller this pretty much accomplishes the same thing, pushing against the top of the housing while pulling the shaft outwards. The clamps keep the gear against the bottom of the housing so that it can come off the shaft but it almost looks like it's part of the shaft.
  32. D

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

I cannot get this gear off. I'm using a puller to pull up on the shaft while simultaneously clamping the gear with c-clamps to the back of the housing, as described in the manual. I can't see where the gear actually comes loose from the shaft. I can't pull it forward because the gear hits on...

    Woods RM660 Gear Box rebuild

I'm running into the same. I have a puller but the problem is the gear appears to be part of the shaft to me. So the input gear is hitting the drive gear as I try to pull it out. I don't want to crank it any harder as I don't want to break something.

My Massey has an air ride seat but it’s an 1835M. Maybe you can get a similar seat. We also use a 1736e open station with the standard seat and it’s a rough ride compared to the 1835M. I realize these are CUTS and not SCUTS so I’m not sure what’s available for your model.
