The LP RC1248 seems to cut better and to follow uneven contours better than the Frontier. The LP was just harder to set up than the Frontier RC2048. Think the movement allowed in the RC1248 is more than on the Frontier.

In my opinion a 2wd ZT does not have the traction to pull one of these unless on totally level ground. Especially, I would not want to go downhill with one being pulled.

Only use battery powered ones. The Ryobi 40v one with carbon fiber shaft is a good one. Can buy a chain saw and extension for it, too. Just as powerful as a gas powered one and a whole lot lighter.

I use M1 0w30 European rated diesel and rated for DPFs. Same for Castrol 5w30 I used in the VW TDI for 7 years and used in tractor and generator driver until switching to M1.

Main difference between oil for gas engines and diesel oil is detergent to keep the added soot from diesels in suspension. Could use the Penzoil (5w30 is fine as is 0w30) but for a shorter change period.

We got that about the same time last year in central Va. This year, it's more like spring. Ran out of diesel in the Isuzu's belly tank. Had to run out twice to get diesel: once to fill and a 2nd time for backup.

Doesn't make any difference. All oils operate at 210-230 F irregardless of outside temperature. Outside temperature has no effect on the hot oil's performance. Cold does.

Not true. Non detergent oils would just let the contaminants drop into the oil pan. Bunches could be sucked up on occasion by the oil pump.

In my experience almost anything works, even some very open plastic mesh material.

I remove mine on the RC2048 every spring and sharpen on a rotary grinder. Do not actually sharpen, just reshape to get worst stuff smoothed out. Never have replaced blades. Run for a while with trail wheel off and then retorque with 6 ft piece of pipe.

Best way to mulch is to block discharge and use 2 crossed blades. This is what our Honda gas mower has and is what the Ryobi 21 inch 40v mower has. The new Ryobi ZT battery machines have cross cut blades.

Why? Just plug off the discharge to cause it to mulch. My Ryobi ZT 48v came with a plug for the discharge. Immediately removed that silly chute and put the plug on.

The Gravely 5665 that I had specified 10w30 motor oil for the engine and gearbox. Think 75w gear oil is probably around 20w motor oil.
