In looking at online pictures of the 09 Ram vs. my 07, it appears that the heavily sculpted sides of the box have been smoothed out, thus widening the area at the top of the box, allowing for these bins without impacting the interior volume of the cargo box. Won't really be able to tell for certain until they hit the lots and can be compared side by side.

There are no wheel wells in the box. Dodge used the Wheel well depth for this storage area. The box now looks like the interior volume of the flare side boxes, it is just a cube.

Ah, that's the first view I've seen of the interior of the box.

Around here Dodge and Ford fight pretty heavy for the C/C segement. Flatbeds and bale beds for the ranchers which goes heavily to Dodge. The Ford dealer is big into commercial sales so he is catching most of the gas/oilfield companies. Chevy is running in third, because everyone says the Duramax diesel isn't as good towing.(Thats just the rep! Don't throw sticks at me Chevy guys) Plus the local Chevy dealer stinks. Most Chevy's come from dealerships out of town.

Finally some one who backs up my point. You get west of the Mississippi, and it's amazing how different things are then on the east coast.

Sales numbers show Ford and GM both outsell Dodge trucks almost 2-1 nationally. No one is saying that a few areas don't have good Dodge dealers and those dealers outsell the Ford and GM dealers in those areas but the numbers were posted and unless you have knowledge showing the numbers I posted are false then please post the accurate numbers showing where Dodge is outselling Ford and GM in truck sales. If not what are you trying to accomplish with your post?

Hey man take it easy. What I am trying to say is, though GM and Ford sell more trucks than Dodge nationally, that is not the case in every market. Like I said, my Dodge store outsells the local Ford store 2 to 1 in heavy trucks, and my Dodge store outsells my GM store nearly 15 to 1 in the 2500/3500 truck segment. I know this is not the case everywhere in the country, I never said it was. But, in the midwest Dodge does a pretty darn good heavy truck business.

I originally agreed with you about this. Then when chh comes on and mentions his area you come back with your post making it seem like anything west of the Mississippi is Dodge country. Yes, there are areas where Dodge is the lead truck seller but nationally they trail Ford and GM considerably. There is no denying that regardless of what side of the Mississippi you are on:rolleyes:

Could also be the way your individual dealership conducts its business or is viewed in your community. Maybe people in your area view you as "Dodge" dealership, despite selling other brands and go to other dealers when they want GMC or Ford.

Nationally, GMC alone practically isn't too far off Dodge's sales numbers. Combine GMC & Chevy together and they come close to the sales numbers of Dodge & Ford together, yet they roll off the same assembly line.

Another breakdown, Ford does not report sales by model(F150, F250 ect) so I didn't find an article saying who was gaining where. Tundra was the only truck though that posted a sales gain last year in the US.
