You sound like me with GM. Had 4 and will never touch another.

Chris

I've had about everything in the last 50 years, but always liked Fords; grew up with them, '53 2 dr Vicky, '54 2 dr Vicky, '56 2dr Vicky(later installed a '61 390" tri-power FE block that didn't last long[but was fun], '62 406 tri-power, 4 speed, 4:10 geared Galaxy, etc-etc. Definitely not dissin' Fords, but they haven't treated me well lately ????

I would go with the F-150. The new F-150's are really nice. I'm getting 19MPG plus with a 2013 5.0 with 3.73's, I could do better if I drove a little slower. I have heard the Tundras get 12MPG. You need to look at both trucks and decide what you like the best. Once you figure out what you want go on cars.com and search for the best price.

The Tundra is getting a style update for the 2014 model year. They should be on the lots anytime now. It's more of a cosmetic update but I would think a dealer may be willing to disount the 2013 to move it. Or if you like the looks of the 2014 you can wait a few weeks to get one.

All cosmetics; same power train(not that there is anything wrong with that)and I can not figure why I get the mileage I do, when everybody is telling me they get no-where-near where I'm at? If I was in the market for a new truck, I'd definitely look at another Tundra; but I'm hoping this will go another 100,000
PS. I don't sell them

We decided on the Tundra. We are going back tomorrow to look over the 3 we like best again.
The Ford was nice, but just did not add up to the Tundra. The EB truck was too expensive.

I don't know what the Tundra costs but with the available rebates on the XLT, I would think the price would be comparable. I was able to get about $7k in rebates when I picked up my EB XLT w/3.73 gears, 6.5ft bed, and the max tow package two weeks ago.

Truck pricing is stupid high. I scored a deal on mine in 2008, $28,500. A GM was $40k at the time and they would not budge on the price. The back seat of the double cab is good, however a Ford Super duty is better.

I think Toyota could improve their market position if they would offer a true one ton chassis. The drive train is already in that territory.

Start with a long bed frame/ double cab combination, then add a Hino diesel as sales improve. Most of us are not looking for the premium bling package, just a solid, capable, affordable truck.

I have a 2011 Tundra 4x4, double cab, 6.5 bed, 5.7 motor and towing package. Mileage average around 15mpg. Highway I can get 18-19 out of it driving reasonably (maybe even 20-21 if I really tried). The key to Tundra mileage is keeping the RPM below 2000 as much as possible, If you like going fast everywhere you go or tow a lot expect to see it in fuel costs. Otherwise, I have little to complain about with the Tundra other than the paint is too thin. The paint scratches if the wind blows.

I bought it because no one else could beat it for price and towing capacity.

I might add that everyone that's been in mine comments on how comfy the rear seating is and how much room there is back there compared to other trucks.

I used to buy nothing but Ford trucks. Last one started falling apart around 50,000 miles. Had it fixed and drove to the Toyota dealer and traded on a Tundra. Best decision I ever made.

They have the 7k rebate still. They were a few hundred cheaper than the Tundra, but tried to mess me over with the trades. That being said, the Tundra, for a few hundred more, had 3 things that really sold my wife and I- back up camera, rear a/c vents and more room/storage. My wife also like the console shifter.
