I have 13.5 years of service as the corporate pilot for a auto parts supplier making glass and my father has 40 plus years as VP of a supplier making radiator and gas caps and fuel components.

I know the margins and the volumes needed to keep the plants running. If GM went down so would we and our competitors. No one would be building vehicles since our plants build for every brand on the market, foreign and domestic.

In order to reinvent and get back to production, the entire cost structure would have to change. Perhaps in several years the costs would level as the economy grew stronger but prices of vehicle would not return. It isn't what "they" wanted us to believe, it is fact, I have first hand knowledge.

Toyota had their bad times and Ford and GM jumped on the negative media campaign........now GM has hit a rough patch and Ford sees blood and goes in for the kill with negative campaign... But Karma ussually bites back...........Ford will hit a rough patch and GM and Toyota and Dodge will go in for the kill since Ford did the same to them.

me thinks one needs to see thru all the media hype and manipulation and realize that a strong North American car industry is needed for all of us if we want to survive the Korean and Chinese procuct coming down the pipe in ten years or less.

Could you give an example of why you want them to fail and the benefits of that failure? Maybe then there could be more understanding of the stance your taking.

No, actually Ford is working WITH GM on the new 10 speed transmission joint venture.

A company that hocked most everything they had like ford did, is not a company that that I would call "strong". It makes sense that it would benefit both if they work together.

Understood however any bailout could be classified as special treatment. Could it not? The mortgage company's backdoor business tactics were far worse than General Motors in my opinion. But, this is your thread about General Motors and their issues. I get that. I'm just not in the camp of jumping on General Motors when they are down. Got to hand it to ya, your a Ford fan through and through!

Again making assumptions without facts Diamond, I haven't owned a bowtie since 1979........my last four trucks have been Dodge.
But just like many of the posters here most if us can see thru the negative media hype. I see there is a whole website of products one can buy to slag the other brands. (just google image Ford no tax dollars) but you bought the tee shirt and probably the license plate holder and window stickers, ...........but when you come on a website that is supposed to police against brand bashing.............you have a habit of walking a fine line and falling off it at times, I would suggest even your provacative avatar is just that, it would be fine if we were a Ford Social Media site but we are not its a tractor site.
