Foreman. Backing the bale size down on the monitor does nothing for the density. The density on a rebel is controlled by an arm under the side door. It has a screw knob on it for the adjustment. But I'm sure you know that. The newer 5420 & 5520's run a pressure gauge option for bale density the older ones 5400 & 5410 do not. To my knowledge.

Yeah I adjusted it by the knob but they thought I was over sizing them so I backed down on the size

Very peaceful looking setting you have there. Nice tractor too.

Must agree with Tom. Very peaceful setting. Nice bailing rig also. Sure doesn't look like you have a problem from the pics.

Any chance you could have a bad batch of belts. Maybe just change belts instead of bailers.

Thanks yeah we are pretty country located. The tractor pulls baler no problem and the ride is nice.
81 bales so far will finish up tomorrow.

Farmer2009 I bale some then work on it at dark and when I get off I put it back together and get after it again. As much as I would like to get a new baler I just don't really won't to spend the money, mine is like new.

Maybe the baler doesn't like your "NEW to you" tractor??? Maybe it likes ORANGE better!! There's not much worse than an equipment failure when the hay's ready to bale.

Alright so I finally got pictures what I'm dealing with. The place where grass is in roller is where the bearing went out.

That baler should be a long ways from worn out. I have never run a big round baler so i am not the one to answer the questions but somebody should be able to help you. I would start a new thread and see if somebody else picks up on it. Also haytalk.com might be a good thread for you to try. that baler is in too good of shape to not expect to last many more years.
