2210/2305 Rear PTO broke.

My LX4 came with a slip clutch. The manual gives a pretty good description of how to operate and test it including a warning about seizing up if left idle for some time.
Every spring when I test it, it is frozen solid.

What kind of storage is your LX4 in? Dehumidified building? If not, its gonna rust like anything else.
Mine has never rusted in 4 years, and it sits in dehumidified garage.

My equipment is kept indoors, but not in a dehumidified garage. All the slip clutches have locked up at one time or another. I am convinced that slipping the clutches once a year is a must.

Seems to be a lot of these breaking, can't believe Deere won't stand behind them.
Time for a class action suite.
Deere knows they have a problem and don't care.

well guys, yesterday my grandpa hit a root with his MMM and busted something inside the tranny. Now there is a vibration coming from the tranny and it sounds like gears are grinding in there. video attached. John Deere 2210 tranny noise - Tractor Videos - Kubota, John Deere, New Holland and More I told him about how common and expensive this problem is to fix so he opted for a new tractor and mower. a 3032E and i got him up from an X300 to an X320 because of the better tranny. Stripped the 2210 of all extras today and the new Deeres will be coming this week. Will miss that 2210, it was the first tractor that i learnd how to drive by myself. But that 3032E will sure be cool.
