2310 post hole digger

Has anyone used a standard cat. 1 PHD with their 2310? I've heard some conflicting info (dealer said no) about wether this subcompact will accomodate a standard cat. 1 PHD with 42" auger (some bx24 users stated success with standard) or only a subcompact style with 32" or 36" auger. I know the BH brackets give slightly less spread than a 2300, but I had no problem hooking up a standard cat. 1 tiller for so I'm assuming this is only an auger ground clearance isssue. Thanks. TP

I've thought about it before but haven't used a PHD on our 2300. In researching it, I came to the conclusion that if I drove the back of the tractor up on portable car ramps I could use a standard Cat 1 PHD. I didn't have that many holes to dig at the time (7) so I wound up digging them by hand.

I have used a full cat 1 post hole digger on my 2310. I am not sure how long it was but it was one from tsc and 9 inch dia. The first time I raised it, it hit the sheet metal above the 3 ph and pushed it in about a 3/8 of on inch, so I just left it that way.

I used a friend's 9" Field Master PHD from TSC on my GC2310 about two months ago. I removed the sheet metal right behind the seat that protects the wiring. I think it was only two bolts, and with that removed there is plenty of travel. It worked well, but I still had to use the hoe on a couple large rocks that were in the way.
