Rob
Thanks for the picture fix!

Sorry about the oxymoron "Blazer caught on fire"

About Wes and the mud I remember some 45 year old guys at the Scout Jamboree doing the same to keep the river from floating our gear out of our tents back in 2001.

At least you could get there I had ice on the road and my wife took a big breath when I spun the truck tires on the ice, when she started turning blue I figured I better turn around before she passed out. We drive 195 miles 3 miles short of getting there. Maybe next weekend I can make it the full trip?

Rob,
The place looks GREAT. The metal roof makes it! Is the metal roof you have the kind that uses the clips to screw it down and then slide the other piece in?

The fog looks peacful, we can see it hanging in the valley from the top of our ridge its kind of relaxing.

Sorry you didn't make it up all the way Tom. Don't you carry chains in the truck? That's a shame to drive all that way and have to turn around.

Yeah, can you believe my beautiful Blazer got hosed like that? Everything melted including the radiator, everything inside and even the Vortec Supercharger. What a waste! I brought up every single piece of lumber up in that thing. It was a real work horse for me and I have many memories of it. Only had 190,000 miles on it too.

Now it looks like this.

David,
To be honest, I have no clue how the roof is put down. Now I'll have to climb up there and find out. I'll take some pictures of it.
I know what you mean about the fog. It sure is cool and makes everything seem very quite... makes you feel like you're in a different world, huh.

Dang Rob!

That place looks better every time you post.

Now I gotta go find where you posted the story about your hot truck.

I see your builder hasn't solved the little wall/staircase issue yet. From this angle, it looks like the best solution is the expensive one...widen the staircase.

Rob,

What a great update to the Log Home build. I sure do like the metal roof and it's color. And I sure hope all those wires and pipes are marked, I don't want to be the one who has to fly out there and straighten all that out. So windows soon? Oh boy it will be enclosed before you know it. When I come to visit, which room is mine? Knowing my luck it will probably be the "crawl" space! but I won't complain (much) LOL

Have you started to pick out all the fixtures, appliances, cabinets and such?

I can't believe the tires didn't blow, as hot as that fire was. I guess it made the recovery operation a little easier.

Great photos Rob! Do you have a firm completion date yet? Looks like 6-8 weeks of work before they finish?

BTW -sorry to hear about your Blazer. Did I/we miss a post about what happened?

I know, I saw those tires and was surprised. And to think he said the fire melted everything. Those back tires look good as new:(

I am sorry about your Blazer but at least no one was hurt. My friends were bringing some propane tanks up to our NWTF Jakes Day event and as soon as they pulled into the driveway his Ranger started on fire. They jumped out and using their heads they immediately pulled the propane tanks out of the back of the truck (they were both in the fire department for a lot of years).

Anyway, there was this real big heavy set lady who as soon as she saw this truck start on fire bolted as fast as she could just about knocking over everyone in her path. As soon as she got far enough away she decided now would be a good time to yell for her 3 year old daughter (who was near the fire where her mother was when this started) to get over to where she was. I couldn't believe that lady would panic so bad over a simple vehicle fire that she would abandon her young daughter and then not go back and get her. All she did was keep yelling till another adult got the kid.

But my friend bought a new F-150 after the fire.

So is your insurance going to kick in and replace the vehicle or are they going to say you worked the truck to hard:(
