I never been to this show but always wondering about it. They always have it right in the middle of the week....This year, I'll plan on going and hopefully get to meet some of my TBN friends. Are you going to be there?

Tom
Yes Tom,
I am definitely going this year. Loretta has already scheduled vacation dates. I'm not sure if I will go all 3 days or not, but yes, I will be there.
FYI, several of us have been talking about going and possibly meeting somewhere at the fair in this West Coast thread:
Tulare Ag Fair Thread

It would be great if we could figure out where to meet up. My cell phone works down there so If you PM me, I will give it to you. Then we can call each other and find a place to meet.

A little off topic, but since we were talking about the truck...
I wanted to get one of those locking hitch pins to keep my ball and hitch from getting stolen when not pulling the trailer up there. So I went to Wallmart and bought one of those Master Lock "Barbell" locking hitch pins. When I got home I found out it didn't fit my receiver. It had a sleeve to make it fit from 1/2" to 5/8" diameter hole, but both the solid shank and sleeve were too short. Turns out the hitch on the new truck is for HD 2-1/2" square hitches and it had a sleeve that would fit a 2" square one like I have.
Here's what that looks like.

I decided to make my own hitch out of an old 5/8" diameter hardened grade 8 socket head cap screw. I cut it to length and machined the end so it would fit the Master lock part.

After a little polishing, it fit perfectly. I made the lock end a little better fit than on the original shaft, taking most of the "slop out. It's probably stronger than a regular hitch pin too.
Here's what that looks like.

So now, if I forget to take the ball hitch out of the receiver and drive into town, it won't get stolen.

I hope you have better luck with your locking pin. I have had two different types and have had to cut them both off so I gave up. The only thing I can figure is the dirt and salt from the roads up here siezed the locks up solid. On the bright side, no one could steal them:rolleyes:

Robert I have had the same problem with my locking pin. Constantly spraying WD-40 in the lock to keep it lubed.

Thanks for this thread. Very interesting and enjoyable to watch all the progress. :)

Skip, welcome to the thread. I hope you are enjoying the BS here. Hahaha:)

Robert and David,
With what you guys said, I may smear the inside of the lock with grease then ... saturate it? What do you think

I would for sure. New York uses a lot of salt on the roads so it seems like no matter how much lubricant I sprayed in mine it kept seizing up. Hopefully you don't have to worry about the road salt like I do.:(

.

They put plenty of salt on the roads here too. I use motorcycle chain lube in a spray can for all automotive locks/hinges/hood releases/linkages, etc. I like the way it wicks into small spaces and then thickens as the alcohol/solvent evaporates. You could get generic spray grease in a can at any auto parts store too. The chain lube is just stickier so it won't fly off a spinning chain.

Thanks guys,
I used grease for my milling machines and filled the inside of the lock part. When I squished it on the bolt I rubbed it all over the bolt too. Took it all apart and cleaned the outside of the lock, now it's on my truck.

As I get older, I don't feel "the need for speed" as much, if you know what I mean.:)

Wow, that's not spoken like a guy who had a Vortech supercharger! But
I do hear you....I am embarassed to say none of my 3 vehicles has any
engine mods at this time. First time in my life. Sold my last M/C last
summer, too. :-(

I'll post the repair work on the Kama in the Chinese section Dave. As far as those 4 in 1 buckets, my friend is getting one on his Jinma 554. There are several guys in the CTOCF who have those and they love them.

I would like to see a photo of those 4n1s and how much they go for. Thx
for the site ref.

I have had one of the barbell pins for over 6 years. Never have had a problem with it.
